Seems Simple..... Anything but
Do not take this show for granted! The synopsis, other reviews, comments, etc....... this show is something familiar, but only in the smallest sense (odd partners that grow on each other, computer smarts, people/street smarts, good fighter, introvert, extrovert, etc), and it is also something completely different!The general idea "if i die, i want someone to delete this" or "if i die, i don't want someone to see this" is a good basis. Definitely something I haven't seen before, usually it's detectives or some "oddball" or "genius" trying to figure out what/who/why someone died or someone killed another. This show is much more than that! I've seen people become upset because of their family issues that lead to someone/something bigger, deeper, darker, more dangerous; and I've seen reluctance in finding the answers... this show seemed to have the latter. They wanted the answers but they didn't want to uproot, demand, or disturb the person (requester or friend/family member), they tried to do their work carefully, quietly, and under the radar so as to not create more dramatics.
But when the story calls for it, the dramatics are there! A couple of episodes I was so surprised to see them happen that I had to rewind and rewatch a couple of times; Yamada Takayuki and Suda Masaki are fantastic during the dramatic moments and during the emotional moments. It takes a lot of emotional, psychological, and physical strength to get through what a few of these episodes showed; but as you watch the show, you can watch them waver as the show goes on, through each story you can see them grow as a partnership and you can see the wheels turning with each "job" they get. Something bubbling up from the very depths of the existential questions of man.
The casting was superb! It was wonderful to see Aso Kumiko, Yamada Takayuki, and Suda Masaki work as a team. They seem like such an odd partnership, but as you watch them "melt together" within their work they are surprisingly a great partnership! Such a deep look in to the depths of humanity was spectacular, it seemed like you could see the wheels turning or the "clock of life" restarting. It seemed like the "battle of good and evil" was almost tangible within a couple of episodes. I have no idea why this show only has 8 episodes, I feel like it could have lasted a few episodes longer!
If you're looking for a great detective show that has a fantastic story before anything else, and then you add in great leading actors/actresses to top it off... Then you will absolutely fall in love with this story! This show will definitely make you think, make you wonder; curiosity killed the cat and all that. It'll make you wonder if the human connection is such a good or bad thing. Please, give this show a chance!

I rediscovered it very recently and decided to give it a shot again, and found it to resonate with me so much more than it did when it originally aired. Every case that is handled is unique in its execution and often in its outcome as well, which keeps the viewer guessing. Presenting the people involved in each case with many layers, not just as good and bad, gives the show so much heart and definitely makes it stand out from other dramas. Each episode works even as a standalone story, but what brings the show to life is the emotion it contains.
Although not a tear-jerker, it still provides a touching story with a realistic balance of emotion and logic, through its main characters Yutaro and Kei. On the surface, Kei represents rational thinking and a logical mind, while Yutaro lets his empathy and kindness guide him, but what truly brings these characters to life is when they subvert these character tropes and act in ways that are not expected of them. Although Yutaro has his outburst, he never seems immature. His emotional intelligence and attention to people’s moods more often than not lead him to make reasonable choices. Whereas Kei, who appears cold or stern, is excellent at identifying what people truly feel and instances where he decides to act based on sympathy rather than rationality, tend to leave a deeper impression than the simple one-dimensional character writing that a lot of shows make use of. This complexity forms an interesting dynamic between our two leads and their friendship is all the more precious because of it. All of this, combined with the actors’ brilliant portrayals, make for characters that feel real and human.
Plot and characters aside, the technical aspects are also done phenomenally. The lighting and colors in every scene make for an aesthetically pleasing viewing experience, and the music enhances the sentimental yet comfortable mood the show presents. Overall, it felt like a small yet heartwarming package, and could definitely do with a continuation!

Partiamo dicendo subito che si tratta di un buon titolo, ma che sarebbe difficile definirne il genere. Non si può dire che sia un drama di azione, né un poliziesco, né che sia particolarmente psicologico, e certamente non umoristico. Vogliamo dire che è drammatico? Ma solo fino a un certo punto.Abbiamo questa strana agenzia che si occupa di cancellare i dati dai dispositivi elettronici delle persone che decidono di far scomparire alcune informazioni alla loro morte. Già qui, se vogliamo, si inizia a capire che la storia in sé pecca di plausibilità. Chi mai pagherebbe per fare una cosa del genere? E perché attendere la propria morte, quando se vuoi cancellare qualcosa puoi farlo in qualsiasi momento? La nostra agenzia è formata inizialmente solo da un disabile in sedia a rotelle, cui poi si aggiunge un giovane che vive di espedienti. Da quel momento i file, invece di essere cancellati, vengono praticamente sempre indagati per capire cosa ci sia sotto e aggiustare dei torti, tanto che alla fine le cose volgeranno in malo modo, almeno relativamente.
Otto episodi possono essere pochi o tantissimi, dipende da cosa ti fanno vedere. In questo caso assistiamo a una serie di casi, anche umani, completamente slegati fra di loro e tenuti insieme solo da un filo sottilissimo che è l'idea dell'agenzia di dele.life, che si occupa appunto di cancellare informazioni scomode su richiesta dei proprietari al verificarsi di certe condizioni.
D'accordo, assistiamo durante gli episodi al crescere del rapporto tra il titolare e il ragazzo tuttofare che viene assunto per aiutarlo. Il rapporto che diventa col tempo di reciproco rispetto e amicizia mentre entrambi si aprono l'uno verso l'altro potrebbe essere considerato il filo conduttore di tutto il drama, ma è un po' poco.
Quella che poi è veramente anomala è la qualità della cinematografia, veramente altissima, che sinceramente appare quasi sprecata per il tipo di serie che descrive.
Anche la performance di alcuni attori è di ottimo livello. Suda Masaki, già visto nella parte del cattivo in MIU 404, rende qui con molta efficacia l'interpretazione di un personaggio completamente diverso: è il ragazzo tuttofare che viene assunto per indagare se i clienti dell'agenzia siano o meno defunti. Yamada Takayuki, che interpreta il titolare invalido dell'agenzia, non mi ha però entusiasmato più di tanto, anche perché l suo personaggio è introverso e poco dimostrativo. Aso Kumiko, la sorella del titolare, chiude degnamente il trio degli attori principali, ma anche tutto il cast secondario, che recita in un solo episodio, si è fatto ben valere.
I misteri da risolvere sono a volte fin troppo prevedibili, ma ci sono alcune scene di azione molto ben girate, e non solo dal giovincello, ma anche dal titolare in carrozzella che riesce a insegnare a fior di bulli che un invalido non è necessariamente impotente, anzi.
La colonna sonora è molto varia e spazia per una moltitudine di generi musicali ben sottolineando l'azione.
Si tratta in sunto di un prodotto anomalo e, per quanto mi riguarda, riuscito soltanto a metà. Il fatto che manchi completamente una storia che faccia da filo conduttore alle vicende e che si rimanga alla fine dell'ultima puntata praticamente in sospeso, non riesce a dare allo spettatore o quantomeno a me un'idea di conclusione e di aver guardato qualcosa di significativo. È veramente un peccato, perché in realtà gli episodi visti uno per uno sono molto gradevoli e a volte anche molto profondi, ma rimane alla fine questo senso di insoddisfazione profonda per cui ci si sente quasi presi in giro.
Bella musica, bella cinematografia bravi gli attori, otto vicende e alla fine? L'aereo rolla e rolla sulla pista, si guarda fuori dal finestrino aspettando di decollare e partire, finalmente, i motori si scaldano e rombano e poi... si spengono. Fine del viaggio. Eh, no, diavolo!
