Too short - when is season 2??

Likes:
1. Short but oh so sweet! I was expecting this to be a light cheesy romcom but was surprised that it also had a lot of heart!
2. Despite only having 6 episodes and the super quick romance between Yihang and Angie, i totally believed in them and wanted them to be together! Cried when Yihang cried in the car.
3. I also liked the stories of the other characters - Sophie was like a b*tch robot but i cried when she said "i love morons"
4. I also liked Liu Yin and i hope she finds Hao Hao!
5. Ding ding and Gui were so funny! 😂
6. Eddie -- ugh! I thought he was going to be the sweet second lead but he's not! I forgot that he is a gangster's son!

Dislikes:
Not much but i wished they extended 2 more episodes so we get more romantic scenes between Yihang and Angie. Oh and sometimes the english subtitles were too colorful and had more swear words than what the characters are actually saying!

Please tell me there is going to be a season two! 🥺

Rating: 8.5/10

Kicking Some Serious...

Summary: This incomplete but entertainingly fast-paced 6-episode series packs a wallop of punches (literally!) and certainly had enough material for double the episode count. I didn’t even know there were triads in Taiwan. From the spunky and strong female lead (who kicks some serious behind) to well-timed plot twists in the storyline to the cutesy chemistry between the leads to the eccentric characters, it could have been a perfect romcom had it not left audiences hanging in the last episode. I had more questions than answers at the end and speculations about the filming (thoughts below). Despite its loose ends and no Season 2 in sight, I think it's still worth the watch and even a rewatch to pick up more details.

Details: From the start of the series until the (supposed) end, there's never a dull moment. I'll never go near a river bridge again! Lol. It's almost cringe-inducing how the leads first meet and how they separate. But there were many cute moments in between that brought the two together, like sharing the same interest in things. At one point, I kind of just wanted Ni An-qi to go with the second male lead because she was betrayed so badly and it helped that Jin Yan-bin (Eddie) was so handsome and kind to her. It was surprising that An-qi was able to forgive Xu Yi-hang so easily after he betrayed her; she was too good for him and he should have cherished her when he had his chance, regardless of his reasons. But I suppose there needed to be some sort of plot twist involving heartbreak (as with many classic romcom formulas). I’ll never know what happened because the last scene of the leads is them staring into each other’s eyes.

Because the series had an abrupt ending, one can only wonder:
- was Xu Yi-hang finally willing to go public about their relationship?
- what became of the secret script?
- will Ling Yun ever get the justice she's been looking for?
- what's really going on with Eddie Kim (in sixth episode)?

Speculations about filming: Did the filmmakers simply run out of money? Did the real triad tell them to stop filming or else? Did something happen to one of the main actors? Was it because the pandemic just started in Asia at that time? It just doesn't make sense why the series couldn't continue when many others still published during that time.

This is the first time I'm seeing a drama with actress Eugenie Liu. Her role is playing the daughter of the biggest triad gang in Taiwan. She posses the skills to kick butt with her martial art skills, is skillful around knives and guns while being the biggest fangirl of the male lead of the drama played by Jasper Liu. As my title for the review is titled "It Has Potential" I decided on this as first off it is a very short series consisted of 40 minutes of a 6 episode series so keep that in mind. Its a good drama you can binge. On the downside because it is short not all relationships in the drama feel well rounded. I'd love to see perhaps more of the leads relationship when their feelings were blossoming for example or the relationship of the female character Angie and her male best friend Ding Ding. The way they've been able to nurture their friendship is on I'd like to see as her bff has been her safety net and someone who just listens. As for the plot of the story it can easily be made into a full series of 12 episodes as the triad, romance and action aspects can be expanded. The ending of season 1 really did leave a great opening for a follow up season. If this does happen the plot twist at the end is one I'd also like to see how it developed to get to that point.

This drama had so much potential i knew it after episode 1. It had the potential to be amazing if only they hadn't rushed through it. The story was strong, the characters well developed, the chemistry was on point, the acting was fairly decent and the cast was pretty good but they rushed it and it crashed and burned. If this drama had at least 20 episodes instead of 6 then the impact would've been much better. A second season if it's coming would be kind of unnecessary and pointless bcuz im pretty sure everyone would be able to guess what would happen. All in all it was a good drama, made me laugh, had its aww moment. I wouldn't rewatch it but it was good.

This was the first asian tv netflix series that I have watched which wasn't created in Korea, and I must say that I think I chose a great series! However, due to the cliffhanger of the last episode, if there is not another season confirmed, I think that it would become a damper and this first series and show in general to be considered irrelevant, but lets hope there is at least one more season of this great show.

I do believe in some parts due to my western culture there were "cringe" scenes, however, there are obviously "cringe" scenes in western movies which asian people will not enjoy.

As a whole though, this was truly greatly acted and the stories in the series were so good that I could definitely watch this season over and over again! I have never seen any of these cast members before as I am still new in this community, however, I would definitely love to check them out again, this is an obvious indicator in how well this show performed! I truly suggest everyone to check this show out and see what you think!

A second season is must needed however for a more detailed review, as then I will be able to have an exact opinion. This show is great though!

Acting Good, Writers need to be fired

When I started this series this was officially the first Taiwanese drama that I had watched and finished. I saw the preview on Netflix and thought hey this looked cool. I even saw how it was only 6 episodes so my hopes for this show was extremely low. Yet, for some reason I am still baffled by the mere premise of this show. To be frank, I did not like the writing or story one bit and felt like this was a missed opportunity. However, the reason that I was able to finish this entire train wreck was because of how good the actors were so if you just wanna watch something for good acting then go right ahead. However, if you want to watch for enjoyment or satisfaction i recommend you try another series. This review will get extremely specific so hold on tight.

Story:
First, the whole concept of this show was pretty fun and amusing. I mean a gangster heir and an actor wow what a plot twist. The funny part is that the main issues stem from her father and the actors (character) pure stupidity throughout the show. I do not remember names because of how forgettable this series was so I'll just say it as it is. Concept God, however I think the people who wrote this script need to find another profession. Not only does the whole premise of them falling in love over a game initiate the cringe factor inside of me. However, it also displays the emotional immaturity of the writers of this film. I understand this is comedy and I'm not trying to sound like a hater. However, PEOPLE DO NOT RANDOMLY FALL IN LOVE WITH EACHOTHER WITH AN ENTIRE 180 on their personality this easily.
Now onto something that really annoyed me, I was actually enjoying the beginning of this series (until the romance) and then things did a complete 180 in like 2 seconds. No cap the events of this series were so rushed and made this extremely uncomfortable to watch. I'll refer to this again i only survived because of the incredible acting despite their terrible script. Why did they have to cancel this like I would have given this a higher rating for it not have been the pacing, story, and overall script.

Script:
The story was pretty good at first aside from the pacing issues and such that I witnessed whilst watching this. One thing that I can never get over is the romance and chemistry as the entire premise of it is just stupid. One thing that I found to be out of the ordinary was the whole fangirl thing, I did get a lot of secondhand embarrassment from the things she did during this series, but that didn't stop me. It's the actor character guy whos name I continuously forget that really got on my nerves. The writing for him was so underdeveloped, vague, and just disinterested. And then the moment he had experienced something good in his life he does some dumb stuff and just does and complete 180 over events that lasted for what 2 days. The other characters including the gangster, the goons, and the mother lady had fairly written lines aside from how cliché they were. However, the romance between the leads just made this a terrible experience on my mart

Missed opportunity:
As stated before this was such a missed opportunity to make one of the wittiest and comedic shows in all of Taiwanese history. However, the writing and jokes really fell short on this one. The overall plot line was subline, and the gangster romance was heavily undermined. I have some fixes that I would make to the crypt but as this isn't my show I couldn't care less. As someone who works in the film industry I found a lot of the action shots to be insulting and there were tome blocks here and there with the camera rigging. The picture quality was good, but again a missed opportunity for something great and cinematic

Overall, great idea, great actors, terrible execution, and writers who need to find new professions.
That is all take my words however you want.

What a cliffhanger drama…….

Taiwan drama usually ends well, but this drama is destroyed by LAST 15 SECONDS!!!

It was really cute RonCom and main CP were so good in acting. The story was also well written and editing was good. But the way it ended was cliffhanger and I’ve been waiting 3 yrs for season 2. However I do not hear anything about anyone is making the S2, so I think I should forget the last 15 sec of this final episode and consider it was a happy ending.

If you are okay with such ending (cliffhanger), then I recommend to watch it. It is such a cute and funny romance. I became big fun of Jesper Liu. Great actor. Natural charm with big dimple and smile., most of all he is a very handsome man with great acting skills.

Quite a disappointment

I actually watched this series because of Jasper Liu. My first series of his was the Use For My Talent series with Shen Yue. I find his acting style interesting and nice to watch. So when I saw this I was curious, and even curious when it was only 6 episodes long. Unfortunately, I have to write that this series is rather a disappointment. Too little episodes for the series and ending with a Cliff hanger and no news about a 2nd season whatsoever. I don't know why but the series seemed quite rushed and lack of interest when being made.

There are also quite numerous loopholes around the 6 episodes shown. Loopholes that just cannot be defined. Overall, if you read the synopsis and found the series interesting via the synopsis, I would recommend a first watch. But other than that, I don't recommend the re-watch. I was thoroughly put out and disappointed at how the series ended.

Need more episodes

I tried to watch this series because of the trailer on Netflix. It looked fun I thought
The story was good overall. The conflict is light but realistic. I like Angie's character as badass woman who has good sense of justice eventhough at first she was kind of rebellious but as the story goes on, I understand why and actually she made a right choice and then she fell in love with her idol as fangirl. Such a dream for us women!
Well, Angie and Yihang's romance was sweet until Eddie came and OMG! He captivated my eyes. Also his character. When I thought he looked like a calm boy who loved his puppy love. But, Uh turned out to be the mastermind!

Such a shame we got only 6 episodes. If they make season 2, I will definitely watch it

Lost opportunity for a great drama :(

It was quite a strange drama. I don't know what else to say about it. I mean, actors were good, story too, background impressive so it had what a good drama should have but because they have cut down the story in the strange moment I am not positive about this production.

All in all the drama was not bad. It had a potential to be a good show but they ruined it by making it a mini-serie. I still can't believe that Netflix released a serie with only 6 episodes (+/- 35 min each) and kinda ended it with a giant cliffhanger 💥😱😡 That "ending" could easily be transformed into the core of love-action drama because the episodes that we were presented with felt like only beginning of the actual story.

Story was cool, had it's potential but I agree with one other commentator on kisskh: "Who was the guy who decided to turn a 20 episode Taiwanese drama into a 6 episode one? With episodes of only 40 minutes? Where does that guy live? And why does he still have a job?" Now when I watched it and read that there is no word about second season I am even more angry on producers. If Netflix eventually decides to release more episodes, I will be more that happy to watch 😇😁

Rarely I am a fan of Taiwanese dramas since they tend to be more confusing and intricate than the Chinese ones, but this one actually made an exception or at least for me!
Don't expect a Hollywood production, the story is literally just 3 hours long but I think the episode has the perfect length not to fall into boring ones.
The story is somehow original, even if sometimes is rushed and there aren't so many background stories I liked the chemistry between the actors, I loved the last three episodes and I've also liked the funny scenes in between.
I don't know why but reminded me a lot of the kdrama ''I picked a star on the road'', which was a title that I've seriously enjoyed in the past.
I seriously hope in a second season or in a final full episode just to understand all the open points left at the end!

INCLUDES ONE TINY SPOILER

I need season 2 ASAP
Eugenie Liu definitely had good chemistry with Jasper Liu. Like I loved them so much and enyojed this drama. I watched all episodes in one sitting and the ending was left on a CLIFFHANGER !
I didn't really like Eddie Kim so I definitely wanted that Angie ends up together with Yi Hang. This drama is good overall and fun for me. Since I haven't watched that many taiwanese dramas and this is my 6th one I really enjoyed!!
I'm looking forward to watch some more good Taiwanese dramas.
