Tang Fan solves a bunch of crimes all at once while enjoying his lunch. Sui Zhou finds and catches a great martial artist and brings him to justice. Tang Fan saves a girl but makes an enemy with a powerful lord's son. The Marquis's son dies mysteriously and Tang Fan is called in to investigate. He finds many clues that don't make sense, but everyone wants to just close the case. Then the emperor sends people to investigate and Tang Fan and his department are in trouble. The perfect blend of lighthearted fun and political shenanigans with a great cast

I came to this series with low expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the competence and watchability. On one hadn you have a frivolous yet brilliant pretty boy lead but all around him are deliciously dark and treacherous political eddies. The cast is capable and there are some really interesting characters. Will be continuing with the series
