My favorite in 2024!
I'm only about 10 dramas in this 2024, and this has already made it into my top 10 all time favorites. Been waiting for this to come out for a while because of Wu Lei and the anticipation was worth it! I prefer the pacing of stories like these, although it might not be for everyone. The OST is just *chef's kiss. And both the acting and chemistry between the characters is excellent. Butterflies all throughout the drama! Definitely recommend if your favorite C-dramas include "Road Home," "Love Me, Love My Voice," "The Oath of Love," "You are My Hero," "Hidden Love," or "You Are My Glory."Was this review helpful to you?
Snow-Covered Romance: A Look at 'Amidst a Snowstorm of Love
Amidst a Snowstorm of Love for me was a slightly above average watch, I definitely feel like if not for the two main leads this would of been definitely rated way lower. Wu Lei and Jin Mai's performance was of course very good, they had great chemistry as a couple, and for the most part they were very mature and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship progress. On another note I really liked the side characters, they were all a positive contribution to the main leads and some of them including Meng Xiao Dong, Jiang Yang and Wu Wei were kind of cutee. The filming locations was absolutely majestic, especially all the snow lol, it gives this drama a bit of a special touch as it's out of the ordinary for a typical romance Chinese drama. Also I enjoyed the sports aspect, even though I don't know the slightest thing about it but incorporating the competition and practice made it really interesting, and I did learn some things about nine ball, and the other types of sports they played. Overall, I wasn't really that engaged with the drama however those that enjoy a sweet candy romance will enjoy Amidst a Snowstorm of Love!Was this review helpful to you?

It’s the kind of show that quietly wraps around you, making it perfect for winter evenings and slow, comforting watches.The romance between Lin Yi Yang and Yin Guo is soft, natural, and free of unnecessary misunderstandings. Their relationship develops through small gestures, shared silences, and steady emotional support rather than dramatic twists. While I personally found the ML’s acting a little bland at times, this was my first fluffy modern romance, and the sincerity of the story kept me invested enough to finish it—and enjoy it overall.
What truly stood out for me, even more than the romance, was the male friendships. The bond between Lin Yi Yang, Jiang Yang, and Meng Xiaodong was warm, respectful, and deeply supportive. There was no toxic rivalry—only mutual admiration, healthy competition, and genuine brotherhood. Their dynamic added depth and balance to the story, making the world of billiards feel grounded and meaningful. The way they supported each other, both in sport and in life, was one of the most satisfying aspects of the drama.
The supporting cast also deserves praise. Yin Guo’s friends and Lin Yi Yang’s teammates acted as natural wingmen and wingwomen, bringing light humor and warmth without stealing focus from the main story. The billiards storyline blended smoothly with the romance, enhancing character growth rather than distracting from it.
Visually, the drama is beautiful—filmed across multiple countries, with soothing cinematography and a fitting OST that elevates the cozy, introspective mood. The pacing is slow, but intentionally so; the plot is the relationship and the interactions. If the chemistry works for you, the drama works. If not, it may feel uneventful.
Overall, Amidst a Snowstorm of Love is a healing, low-angst drama that celebrates companionship, first love, and brotherhood. It may not be perfect, but it’s sincere, comforting, and quietly memorable—definitely worth watching if you enjoy soft romance and strong friendships.

Not realistic romance
I love love romance dramas but the good ones which give you butterflies are so few in between. Taiwanese dramas have quite a few of these, best one being MARS. The main problem with this drama is that the actors aren’t actually experienced in doing romance scenes and so they are not actually good at kissing or any romantic gestures. FL is especially bad and I suppose it’s due to her age. I mean if they want to make something romantic, find leads who can do them well (recent Taiwanese I watched, The Way You Shine, have great ML and FL who do believable romance scenes. I like Leo Wu and Zhao Jinmai, but they are so inexperienced in love scenes, it’s Ike watching kids playing role play. 🤷🏻♀️. Even Wang Xingyue (he plays Yin Guy’s brother), who is a few years younger than Leo Wu is a much better and more natural kisser than Leo Wu (in his early drama First Love).Some other review mentioned Hidden Love. Yes, romance is definitely better here, though still not deep like the good Taiwanese ones.
Worst for this drama, story is quite boring too. The only thing I love about the drama is the OSTs. They are so many beautiful songs.

Swooning, healing, overall a very memorable drama
Snow, Storm and the coldness are somehow give these two people warmth as well as love. The chemistry between the leads is obviously the highlight of this drama. I think the actors are portraying both inexperienced people being in love so well. Not just the leads, but the supporting roles don't feel like a filler, instead they have depths and not just merely so the leads can be together. I love every aspect in this drama. Either it's the romance, the friendship, forgiving and make a peace with the past, ML bond with his master and so many more. This drama is making me swoon on another level. Their love is pure, healing and heartwarming.As the novel reader, I think I like the drama abit more. Sure it " lacks " of physical intimacy ( which is not true at all) but affection can convey in so many other ways than just skinship. I value understanding, companionship, and quality time more than hot kisses. i think their sparkling chemistry enough to make it hot. This drama wrapped almost everything the novel can't. As far as I remember the novel didn't really dive into the friendship between ML and his friends, especially his master. In this drama, we can see more of them, we can understand more. If the novel mostly just focusing about the main leads, the drama has everything init. The sports, the friendship and ofc the romance. Although maybe this is your typical cheesy romance drama, but this is so beautifully and realistically written. It makes you feel like you can relate to them.
I'll remember this drama as long as it lets me. I'll miss them sm when this over. Lin YiYang and His compass, Yin Guo. I hope we can see them again in future projects, movie maybe?

AFTER WATCHING IT..... IT'S REMINDING ME THAT I'M SINGLE IN EVRYWAY
the story of show is about LLY who is former snooker player who retired and start study in foreign country , where he met a nine-ball player YG on a snowstorm night and LLY fall for YG on first sight. their journey starts from that night , with the help for YG's cousin , LLY started pursuing her and they start a dating each other. the story is quiet basic one but the execution of show was fabulous and captivating , we know what will happen next still we wait for that moment to come, all the character of the show are very well written and fun to watch.the cast was one of the best. all of them have done very good job, after watching LW and ZJM acting it feels like they are dating in real life. they was not a single moment when you feel bored of seeing them......
other supporting character have won my heart , MXD , JY and LLY friendship was very realistic , when this three come together in a scene we don't want to see anything else . also all of them are eye pleasing to watch including WW , MXT , CAA .
in each and every scene of our ML and FL we are getting butterfly in the stomach , punching in the air and smiling throughout the show.

Initially i was reluctant to watch this..... But i am glad i watched it.... Just loved it.....Everything is soooo nice to watch....

Chemistry between leads is 😍😍fire....
And small little moments between them are just like cherry on the cake.....story is good tooo
First 20 episodes are majorly focused on male and female leads' romance, long distance relationship....
Next 10 episodes are a bit fast paced.... A lot of things happen in them... Like male returning to his hometown, male lead's teacher's death, male and female playing tournament together and finally the proposal....
But everything is good.... Nothing seems like a mess.....
To not make this drama appear unrealistic, a small fight/misunderstanding is also shown between the leads but it is solved very quickly....
Overall i loved this c drama a lotttt... And it has become one of my top 5 favorite c dramas of all time......

Don't watch, you'll crave for more.
It only took me 6 mins to fall in love with this drama . The moment Lin Yiyang fell for Yin Guo at first sight, I really felt it. It's my 4th watch, but it feels like the 1st time watching it. This drama is like sipping a warm cup of coffee in a cold winter day & hugging a fluffy pillow while you sleep. The amount of butterflies they gave me from start to finish is ♾️. No toxic characters, unnecessary plot, it's a feel-good, cozy romance. It'll surely make you feel better if you're having a bad day.The chemistry of Wu Lei & Zhao Jinmai is palpable which I believe that made this drama even more heart-fluttering & addicting. I can't think of anyone who could portray Lin Yiyang & Yin Guo better. They're just perfect for the role.

Pure love
I love the drama it emphasize that pure love do exist and that it does conquer all aspects of life.It also nicely does without putting a third party on both couple this is amazing drama to watch over and over again.
The main character are good together that makes the story interesting to watch.

Beautiful story with a Great cast
I really liked the story, about a man who lost himself on his was of Proud and pain. There were no misunderstanding and a pure love story. I really liked it so much. It was heart-Warming to Watch. And i really loved the side-characters. So why Not 10? I rarely give a 10. a 8.5 is very high, and i really enjoy every Moment of the Drama, but i think i will Not re-Watch the Show.
