Must Watch - Gateway GL
⚠️ GL Grading DisclaimerBefore we dive in, a quick note on how I grade GL series: My primary focus is on the love story, chemistry, and plot. I grade on a curve, meaning my ratings are “for a GL,” recognizing the specific landscape and production context of girls’ love media.
If I ever rate something a 10, it’s because it absolutely delivers in one (or more) of these areas: undeniable chemistry between leads, high enjoyability, or a unique and/or excellently executed storyline that stands out in the genre.

First Impressions (and Rewatch Redemption)
Gap was my first GL series, and I’ll be honest—the first time around, I found it kind of goofy. The exaggerated sound effects, on-screen animations, and heavy-handed product placements threw me off. The coworkers? Annoying. It felt too campy, too much.
But coming back to it now—with a better understanding of the genre, Thai culture, and GL storytelling tropes—I see it differently. The quirks that once felt distracting now feel like part of the charm. I’ve learned to appreciate the genre on its own terms, and Gap benefits from that.
Plot & Tropes
This show checks all the trope boxes: Ice Queen, Enemies-to-Lovers, Office Romance. It’s classic, and the execution works. The story is unapologetically melodramatic, but that’s part of its appeal. It knows what it is and leans into it. The build-up of the romance was well-paced and genuinely sweet. It’s a cute story at its core, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
Acting
The acting was solid throughout. The leads really carried the emotional weight, and they sold the tension, awkwardness, and eventual tenderness with conviction. You can feel how much fun they’re having, and that warmth comes through even in the campier moments.
Chemistry
No surprise here—FreenBecky have fantastic chemistry. They’re playful, intense, and emotionally connected. Their scenes together are a big part of what makes the show work. Even with all the fluff and exaggeration, they ground the story in something that feels real.
Chemistry rating: Steamy
(Scale: Hot AF, Steamy, Warm and Cute — Gap lands firmly at Steamy. Plenty of tension and sweetness with a healthy dose of longing.)
Cultural Impact
Gap gets extra credit for what it did historically. It wasn’t just a hit—it was a moment. It brought Thai GL into the spotlight globally, broke barriers, and gave the genre momentum. It showed that there’s a real audience for stories like this—and delivered something entertaining, queer, and full of heart.
Final Thoughts
Watching Gap now feels like revisiting your first love after you’ve grown up a bit. It’s not perfect, but it’s important—and honestly, it’s fun. I appreciate it so much more now. It’s not just a good GL, it’s a landmark one.
Highly recommend—especially if you’re just getting into the world of GL.

it's good
The show is nothing short of exceptional, offering a captivating blend of drama, humor, and raw emotion. From the very first episode, it grabs your attention and refuses to let go. Every moment feels intentional, with layers of meaning and nuance that make each scene feel like a small masterpiece. What makes this show so remarkable is its ability to balance a deep, intricate narrative with rich character development, all while maintaining a sense of entertainment that keeps you coming back for more.
One of the most notable strengths of the show is its writing. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and thought-provoking, making each interaction between characters feel authentic and impactful. Whether it’s a lighthearted exchange or a tense confrontation, the words carry weight, and every conversation moves the story forward. The writing also excels at weaving in multiple storylines, all of which are compelling in their own right, creating a beautifully complex narrative web that never feels overwhelming.
The character development is another standout aspect. The show takes its time to fully explore each character’s backstory, motivations, and growth over time. Watching characters evolve from episode to episode is a rewarding experience, and the way their relationships with one another shift and change adds an extra layer of depth to the story. Each character feels like a real person, with flaws, strengths, and complex emotions that make them relatable and memorable.
The performances by the cast are equally remarkable. Each actor brings their A-game, delivering performances that are heartfelt, nuanced, and full of depth. The chemistry between the cast members is palpable, making their interactions feel natural and believable. Whether they are portraying moments of intense drama or lighthearted comedy, the actors manage to convey a wide range of emotions, making every scene feel alive and genuine.
The pacing of the show is another reason it stands out. The story unfolds at just the right speed, allowing for moments of tension and release, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats without ever feeling rushed. There’s a rhythm to the way the plot develops, and each episode feels like a satisfying piece of a larger puzzle. The show doesn’t rely on cheap cliffhangers or contrived twists to keep its audience hooked; instead, it builds tension organically, with each twist and turn feeling earned.
Visually, the show is stunning. The cinematography is breathtaking, with each shot carefully crafted to enhance the mood and tone of the scene. The use of color, lighting, and framing adds a layer of artistry to the show, elevating it beyond just a piece of entertainment and into something truly special. Whether it’s a sweeping panoramic shot or a quiet, intimate moment between characters, the visual storytelling adds another dimension to the experience.
The music and soundtrack are equally impressive, with a carefully curated selection of songs that complement the story’s emotional beats. The score is subtle yet powerful, enhancing the atmosphere without ever overshadowing the action on screen. The music helps to build tension, evoke emotion, and heighten the overall impact of the show.
In conclusion, this show is a masterclass in storytelling, acting, and direction. It offers a perfect balance of entertainment and artistry, leaving a lasting impact on anyone who watches it. With its unforgettable characters, compelling plotlines, and stunning visuals, it’s a show that deserves to be seen, cherished, and remembered.

Pretty dissapointed
I do get why people tend to really like this show. However, it kinda dissapointed me. I dropped the drama at ep 10 because i was simply not hooked anymore. In the beginning i really liked the plot, but Sam had too less character development. The first 8 ep were nice, and it would have been enough for me. But there were four more, and i just got way to bored to continue watching.
I do get why people like this show, but it is just not somthing for me.
Dont get me wrong, its a nice watch. I just think the show would have been better if i was made shorter.

Feedback
The content is okay, but I need it to be different, a bit mass, good acting, sound image, 10/10 cinematography, don't give a manly woman, please produce more GL sets, give they are soft girls🤔, Please produce a lot of good GL, thank you manufacturer, don't just focus on the mass, something a little different in terms of content for example,If two cute girls get together, look at why they usually ship two romantics, because they have the same frequency, don't get too hung up on one girl being pushy, I don't like it.Was this review helpful to you?

Was this review helpful to you?

Napakaganda talaga ng series na to. Recommended to watch it. Eto ung first gl series na kinaadikan ko kasi ang galing ng 2 cast and they really have chemistry, and di ka magsisisi sa bawat episodes talaga since ang ganda ng quality, acting and yung bawat scenes nila per episode. Worth the wait yung mga episodes kahit nakakabitin huhu pero superb gandaaaa, di talaga magsisisi. And dahil sa dalawang bida nammotivate ako mag-aral ng thai language becos I want to understand them whenever they speaking thai language. You guys will fall in love to that 2 main characters because they relly have chemistry. Kaya please please, watch it super worth it talaga!!!!Was this review helpful to you?

Pero tú has cambiado mi mundo.
