Is this the best series ever?
YESSSS!!! I loved every second of this show and everything was perfect! The acting, the music and the storylines was GOLD, PURE GOOOLD!! After a BL break this got me right back and boy was it a ride🤌🏻The pairings was so good and all the ships were amazing, I mean FirstKhao can't go wrong 🥹 NeoMark was a pair I didn't knew I needed and ForceBook was super cute as always! The only thing I didn't care for was how the TopMew relationship had so many struggles and it just got draged out. But overall it was PERFECT!
The whole production was amazing soooo
do yourself a favour and watch this NOW🤩

5 ☆ ── a character-driven realistic portrayal of love and friendship
I had gone into the drama expecting it to be just another steamy-scene-heavy one with good chemistry but lackluster plot and characterization. It looks like that but has such well-developed characters and a non-preachy realistic portrayal of some of the major young adult issues like alcoholism, relationship anxiety, childhood trauma, dysfunctional families and casual relationships. I loved that they brought in lesbian parents, a single mother with an unconventional job having a brilliant relationship with her son and the emotional turmoil a casual relationship brings in and how it becomes so difficult for people to stop depending on a toxic partner and start loving and respecting themself.Among the characters I loved Mew the most. He had clear boundaries, was understanding, savage when need be but was made three-dimensional when he showed that sometimes in love wisdom and smartness go out of the window and we give in to a side of ourselves we come to despise. Sand was amazing, a hardworking person, a good son, a good friend to Nick and such a good partner to Ray. Major major respect for Khaotung for playing Ray so well, my heart went out to him while simultaneously being taken aback by how HOT he looked. RaySand's chemistry shone especially in the angst and emotional scenes. They are such good actors. Another great performance came from Neo who played Boston, amazing for real. He is one of those actors who can play an absolute jerk but instead of hating the character you just can't help but marvel at the acting prowess of the person behind him. Nick played by Mark was amazing! He was so vulnerable and tried so hard to understand and walk alongside the unavailable Boston that I felt like crying every moment. He reminded me of Gun from Theory of Love and War from Love Mechanics but I was so so happy to see that his ending was different and so well-done!
Honestly they have raised my expectations for other GMMTV series it's so good. A 10/10 from me and I will definitely rewatch it for the chemistry and drama.

One of my favorite BLs and best acting I've seen so far
Now usually drama about friends with benefits relationships aren't my cup of tea, but this show was something else. I have to give credit to the amazing acting specifically First (Sand) cause oh my gosh the way he can express emotions with just using his eyes is a talent. The other actors where amazing as well which really sold the story to me.Now most people wouldn't agree with me but I think the story is kinda realistic and people should use this as a sort of tutorial on what situationships are and how most people end up hurt, taking Boston and Nick's relationship for example. They also show how people can change over time as well as never changing (Top and Boston).
At first tbh I wasn't a big fan of Mew's character but he grew on me over time.
And most of all Sand and Rays relationship. Thats all I need to say. My fav character is obviously Sand (not only cause he's hot) but he knows his worth and its a breath of fresh air.
10/10 would recommend (unless ur not a fan of spicy scenes cause my god theres a lot in this show lol)

BEST SHOW EVER!
After watching the 6th episode, I can clearly state that this show is the most intense, drama-filled show I have watched.I love all the acting, especially in episode 6, Book and Khaotung delivered on all aspects. I cannot wait to see how Mew will act in the next couple of episodes, with the truth finally coming out.
Moreover, the history between Top and Sand interests me so much! I cannot wait to see how their relationship is evolving with hopefully more information coming to light, and potentially an appearance of Sand`s ex.
The only negative about this show is that 12 episodes are not enough :)

It's GMMTv's best series for 2023
Everything about "only friends" is perfectly messy... it Makes viewers interested , anticipate and curious at the same time. From directing, to cinematography, location is perfect. Must commend d Very Exceptional acting from Firstkhatoung as (SandRay) and Neo as(Boston)...No cringe acting, perfect ost. Honestly, I have been watching GMMTV works for 3years now and for "only friends" they went all the way, uncensored and bare... I'm impressed. Rewatch value is 90percent Kudos to the cast and crew

it was good
This series was a total mess, but I really liked it. Lets start with Top and Mew. Mew was so innocent and naive from the beggining, but when Top cheated on him with his friend, he became out of control and acted so stupid. He wanted to took revenge but went too far (my opinion). Top didnt deserve to suffer so much, he already learnt his lesson and all. The drama between them lasted till the end, but at least Mew gave him a second chance.Sand and Ray are my all time favorite couple, I liked them so much and the chemistry between them was obvious. I felt sorry for Sand, because his ex betrayed him and then when he met Ray, he didnt know what he want ( Ray was in love with Mew from the beggining and there was a chance for them to be together, thanks to Top`s mistake). Ray suffered a lot also. He was alcohol addicted and it was painful to watch how he lived. Sand wanted to help him and always been on his side.
Boston and Nick wasn`t my fav. couple in this series, because of Boston. He was disgusting in this series. He slept with Top, with Nick who really loved him, with Atom and many more people. He wasnt capable of normal relationship. He betrayed his friends and Nick. I felt sorry for Nick, he deserved a person who love and support him. At the end, he didnt give one more chance and said goodbye to Boston. Dan was better than Boston to be honest.
Another character who I didnt like is Boeing. He betrayed Sand, Top and when he came, he messed up everything. Sand almost gave him a second chance.
At least everything ended well, but this guy who showed in the end.. i think that in season 2 (if they make a second part) he will cause troubles.

The most intrigued and traumatizing BL I've ever whatched by far
I have a lot to say about this series. First of all, I've been really impressed about the emotions It conveys. A BL series has never left me awake at night to cry about all its breakouts. The Story made me feel anger, sadness, jealosy, happyness, passion and love of the characters.I liked the Story for the fact that It was intriguing, but It was to problematic and full of betrayals, and I didn't like that.
I wanna talk about the characters.
First of all, the one I've liked the most from the beginning of the Story... NICK. I mean, why does so few people like him. He Is perfect, he is cute, romantic, he Always gives another chance to Boston even if he breaks his heart and makes him cry, Just because Nick Is too in love with him. He Is also a nerd and he Is cleaver, so, he Is a unique character I've never seen in BL and I dont think i'll see a character similari to him in the future. HE NEEDS A HAPPY ENDING.
Then there's Sand, who I think Is the most loved characters by all the fans. He also does everything for the person he loves, Ray, and Always forgives him, never getting angry. He even renounces to his Jobs for him. He refuses to keep working as a Singer so that Ray avoids alcool and, of course, he refuses to produce wine(?) for him.
I think Ray needed to talk to his father at the end.
Oh and take a Moment to appreckate him Just for his musical tastes (Arctic Monkeys!)
I don't have much to Say about Ray, I'm Just Sorry for his mental problems, and his alchool addiction, and his one-sided-love for Sand, but he has been very lucky to meet Sand who saved his Life a lot of times.
Then there's Mew. At the First episode i thought I would have liked this characters, for his being romantic and sensitive, but I changed my mind. I think he Is exaggerates when he takes revenge and I HATE when he tries to change himself.
Also... WHY IS EVERYBODY OBSESSED WITH HIM IN THE STORY? (Ray, Top, Boeing and the due at the end)
What to Say about Top and Ton? I didn't like them but they could have been treated better during the story. I'm Happy that Top had a Happy endings (even thought I disliked him for his rude way to approach to Nick and Ray), and I'm disappointed sbout Boston ending with Nick.
Then there are Chuen and April, two comfort characters Who didn't bring problems to the story. GO LESBIANS
At the end we have the worst character of the entire Story: Boeing. Ok, differently from Top, I'm glade he didn't have a Happy ending. He literaly didn't deserve It.
That's all. I can't believed Book and Force are coming to have a fanmeeting in Rome, at 1 hour from my house but i think I won't go cause tickets are too expensive.

it’s was definitely great experience .
since gmmtv 2023 line up and the pilot trailer I’ve been waiting for this one to air so bad . I was so excited to see something different from gmmtv other bl’s and only friends was definitely something new to me . since the first episode I was blown away . I was anxious about watching firstkhao new characters and them making out like that was a treat .as I’m biased here sandray was for sure the best couple , since the beginning I just loved their interactions and the way their story was told .
and ofc firstkhao amazing acting and chemistry just stole the show for me .
I felt so happy during sandray scenes it’s insane .. rewatching their scenes will definitely be my new hobbie until I get my firstkhao 2024 drama
LOVED SAND CHARACTER , ray also had his moments .
mostly hated the way ray treated sand most of the time (ayan could never🤞🏻) because my sand loved him so much since the start and deserved so much better but at the end ray realized he can’t live without his man (🤭) so it’s okay
for the other couples - top and new (force and book) it was my first drama with them so it was hard for me to get attached , their storyline was meh for me since the first episode when top just ask him to be his boyfriend so damn fast.. it’s a no for me . I’ve learned to like them only towards the end .
top was meh . and I just don’t know forcebook enough idk
and for nick and boston , I’m not unsatisfied or surprised at all that they didn’t finish together , actually I’m glad . I wanted them to work so badly but then I’m the last episode still Boston just failed me again , gone to get drinks but them making out with beoing? I was so mad . he needs to work on himself , for now he definitely need a lot more time to change . I’m glad sooooo glad nick chose himself.
LOVED NICK AND SAND FRIENDSHIP, THE BEST PART OF THE DRAMA FR
the entire cheating parts made me angry but it was definitely necessary here ,
mew made me mad most of the time for forgiving top but not Boston untill the last episode .
ray was an asssss for most of the time because of his obsession with me , was so glad it was over .
I wanted sand’s ex to come wayyy more early than the last few episodes . I wassss so happy it was played by mond because of my not me heart but again he came too late (at least they kissed 🤭) and he was an ass also so I’m glad it took them only 2 parts to get him out .
now it’s definitely have flaws , I was hating on every character (except sand my man😘) and the storyline was so messy I lost my mind , but at the end it was new and special , I liked that .

Kept Me Gasping Till The End!
I don’t where to start, but I got hooked by this drama from the beginning till the end! Living in Canada, I always have to wake up early on Saturday mornings to watch the drama live. I tell you that it was the best decision ever since going on Twitter while this drama is airing will make it lose its element of surprise! No kidding about that since I gasped with every episode, from the surprise guests, to the sudden turn of events. Before anything, kudos to the writers and directors for making such a masterpiece! I am beyond proud of the actors too! I have seen their previous works and to suddenly see them in a very mature series, it really took me off guard! One thing I enjoyed too are the soundtracks used! How is it that the song matches every scene?! I have never watched a series where the songs used in the background got me gasping for how accurate it is with the situation. I also loved how this drama tackled a lot of vices and how it affects people around those who does it. Mental health was also featured here a lot especially with Ray’s character. What I appreciated is how they actually showed the positive light for Ray and how he was saved from his darkness. Personally, I relate to that. Top and Mew had a lot of ups and downs. Honestly was ok too if they don’t end up together, but I guess it shows no harm to feature forgiveness and new beginning. I am happy for Nick and Boston. I do think being together would have been toxic for either of them. If anything, I do wish we saw more of April and Cheum’s love life then again the other couples are messy enough already.I’m writing this because I am really missing Ray. For the 12 weeks, I laughed, cried and got angry with him. Khaotung really did a great job with playing Ray All the emotional scenes were so memorable. I don’t think I can ever move on from those!
I’ll go and binge watch the series now! Yes, I’m rewatching it despite it ending only this morning here 😂

Best BL of 2023
Excellent casting and an INCREDIBLE OST! The characters are all super interesting and I love the character development. Khaotung did a great job playing Ray and singing the OST “let’s try”.It has some mature themes but is also playful at times, the storyline doesn’t feel boring in places and the conversations are kept concise without any boring background or filler scenes. The spicy scenes are also addicting. 10/10.
my favourite couple is SandRay. They were so cute together. The actors have amazing chemistry (really loved them in The Eclipse too).

Exciting series! Got me interested in Thai BLs again.
This is my first review on this website since 2021. After the release of shows like ATOATS, ITSAY, and KinnPorsche, the bar for Thai BLs was set so high that I no longer felt satisfied in watching most of them. However, Only Friends has become one of the few series to capture my attention and get me back on track to obsessing over BLs. In a time of countless fluffy lovely dovey BLs, this show sticks out for the hot mess that it is. It is drama-filled but remains very realistic. Despite that, its ending remains its biggest flaw as it felt like there was something missing. I'm just hoping it means there's a season 2.It showcases three different couples, each representing common issues and complexities that come in relationships, even more so in gay relationships. Mew & Top: Infidelity and the ability to trust again; Ray & Sand : Second best and a partner struggling with addiction; Boston & Nick: FWB and unrequited love between an easily attached pick me and a douchebag that's not interested in commitment.
MewTop are basically the main couple of this show. Mew starts off as a boring but very relatable character. The complete 180 in his personality was probably one of the best highlights of the show. My mind always goes back to that scene in episode 6 where Mew confronts Top, which just left me gagged. Although I was rooting for Mew to NOT get back with Top, the way their relationship carries on accurately represents the reality of how unfaithfulness is usually dealt with - a second chance and the hesitancy to trust again. To be honest, they got really boring towards the last few episodes.
RaySand were honestly the stars of the show. Sand was such a sweet character and so loveable. Ray was messed up but you couldn't help but root for him. Loved their story. Just wished they took out the part with Boeing because that was unnecessary. They had gone through more than enough.
Boston & Nick really added more spice to the show. Their plot becomes a bit uninteresting during the second half but I'm glad Nick realised in the end that he deserved better.
Acting:
This show sticks out not just for its plot, but for having some the best acting I have seen in BL history.
Book was excellent in this series. I get chills watching his acting in episode 6 & 7. Also, the chemistry between Book & Force has improved ten-fold from A Boss and a Babe. I think these roles suit them a lot more. Force's acting still feels a little stiff.
More importantly, First & Khaotung gave us a performance of a lifetime. I am not kidding when I say that Khaotung should win an Emmy for his performance in Episode 10. I have teared up every single time at the last scene. First did amazing too and the chemistry he has with Khaotung is one of the best I've seen in BL history.
Neo and Mark did a really good job as well, especially in the steamy scenes. It is very difficult for me to erase Neo's comedic image but I think this series really helped me in taking him more seriously. Mark did a great job in conveying how his character felt and he seems to fit BL roles a lot better than I thought.

First Impression
This year has overall brought us some good series, and more to come. Gmmtv always produces, in my opinion, the best kind of series. The cast is top tier, seeing a mix of multiple couples, and a new couple on screen brings me excitement. I have always loved them all in their own series, together or not.
Love seeing a hint of the characters personalities in just one episode. (ex: mew being a more soft guy, top being POSSIBLY toxic, etc) and much more to learn about each of the characters.
I really do wonder how this series will turn out, because I enjoy them being on screen, and seeing how it will go with these 6 will be interesting.
