Fire!!!
If a drama manages to evoke a range of emotions within me, it automatically earns a perfect score of 10 in my book. My admiration for actor Song Kang dates back to his performance in Navillera, and in this latest drama, his beauty truly captivates. The on-screen chemistry with actress Kim Yoo Jung adds an extra layer to the narrative. The fantasy elements, the musical score, and the meticulously designed sets, especially his character's house, contribute to an overall amazing viewing experience. The ability of the drama to make me laugh, cry, and even feel moments of anger is precisely what I appreciate in this genre.
The climax of the story was exceptionally well-executed, leaving me eagerly anticipating a potential part 2. It feels like there's more to unfold, and I genuinely hope the creators consider expanding on this narrative.

I’ve seen this film before
I think there’s definitely an audience for this out there — if you are a fan of fantasy mixed into real life and adult romance (think Goblin, Legend of the Blue Sea, My Love From the Star, those classics) I think you’d really enjoy this. For me, it was just okay. I think I prefer my romance a little more down-to-earth and conversational; a lot of the more flashy scenes where they were saving each other didn’t really have a strong emotional impact on me and felt borrowed from the aforementioned classics, while the more domestic scenes where they were talking to each other or working together were stronger but not enough for these characters to set themselves apart from other dramas.
Additionally, and this is absolutely personal preference, I think I’m just not the biggest fan of linking saeguk and modern plots with the past lives and reincarnation premise. It’s been done to death (See Goblin, and most recently A Good Day To Be A Dog and The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract) and I just can’t find it in myself to care that much about their past story, since that’s all it is: past. Our non-immortal main characters have lived different experiences. I understand how it adds a level of angst to the leads (as if destiny works against them) as well as upping the stakes (from basic company politics, for example, to actual death) but it always just feels like a tangent.
With all that being said, this was just okay. I didn’t care that much for the modern plot about the company, but also didn’t really find the backstory to be all that memorable. The main characters are likable enough; Dohee is strong, and Guwon is a convincing demon that balances between being heartless and hilarious, but overall they’re both kind of cookie cutter characters.
This ended up being sort of “I started it so I might as well finish it” kind of show for me.

Not worth it unless you're bored
This drama starts pretty well. The story is not very original, it's one of those classic 'damsel in distress' plot with a touch of fantasy. Nothing wrong with that.My problem is with the main's character lines... It's like writer's believed that Kim Yoo-jung and Song Kang physical appearance's where enough to fill the plot. Instead of exploring the relationship on a deeper level, we're sitting through several minutes of empty stares, futile discussions or Jeong Gu-won changing outfits like it's a fashion show. Don't get me wrong, I like playful scenes but this was painful to finish. Kim Yoo-jung and Song Kang may not be the greatest actors but this was an absolute disservice to their career (even though the ratings will say otherwise), specially Song Kang who already struggles with facial expression.
I wanted to stop after episode 10 but I pushed through. I do not recommend unless you have nothing else to do.

Good to Unwatchable
The script and acting and direction IMO made it impossible for me to watch after EP 09I really liked it up till the two main characters got romantically connected then it was so cringe I could not watch it and I love romcoms but IMO it was poor in every way.
The female lead should be better than this, but it was shot as if she had not been acting from the age of 10.
The terrible presentation of the two lovers was incredibly bad, poor storylines (Script), poor acting of these romantic storylines (Both Actors) and awful direction (Director).
I tried watching the remaining episodes, but I find I am skipping 80% of the dialogue, it's so bad.
Stopped watching it after EP 14 moved on to many other much better drama's.

Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang: One of the best chemistry I have ever seen in a drama.
Let me first thank the casting director for casting these 2 together. They're just magical in this drama. so much natural chemistry; it never feels like they're acting. This drama has 1 of the best cinematography I have ever seen in recent years in a drama. The Music. Splendid. Singer Yaori and her song True which is the show opening is so haunting and beautiful. I tend to skip Netflix kdramas openings but I never do it here , it is so good and well done.
Pdnim BRAVO, taking my hats off. I will be looking forward to his other projects.
Kim Yoo Jung: what an acting genius. I already knew what an amazing actress she is but she delivered even more and once again in this drama. Going on in 21 years in the industry at only 24 years old. I cannot wait to see her career blossom even more.
I am so happy that Song Kang will enlist leaving such a great drama behind and IMO his acting in this drama is the best he has ever done it since debut so I very much look forward to his acting career after the military.
Isnt it obvious that if a story is crafted into fantasy, melo, rom/com, it is going to have more or less references of other dramas of the same genre in some capacity by putting their own twist into it? So all the complaints about how My demon emulated from x, y, z in some aspects I just do not understand. Realistically speaking , it is kind of inevitable IMO.
I dont think I have ever seen a kdrama that basically incorporates all genres and My Demon managed to do that which I love so in that sense it is a great original work IMO.
What I loved the most about this drama though was the chemistry of KIm Yoo Jung and Song Kang; just so beautiful. I can keep on raving about it. I love how the writers, directors gave us so many moments between the couple and they had so many screentime together. We literally watched them as a married couple; doing mundane things everyday, how they tackled everything in life together.
I also loved how all the supports character had a specific purpose to the show; they were just not there for the sake of being support characters. The wild dogs, the Leads secretaries , Star Jin, the villains,.......
I have watched dramas from various countries over the years and this show will forever have a special place in my heart and Do Do hee and Guwon lovestory is 1 of the best lovestories I have ever had the pleasure to see. I am happy that My Demon was a HUGE success and I will my Demon Team terribly and I wished we could have a season 2.

casting director & stylists saved the day
the story was compelling in the beginning, and i was OBSESSED initially. but then....oh well.the leads being a stunning couple was the e
best part of the show. (I'm sorry, but my bro song kang still can NAWT act very well😭 he's better in non romance dramas imo.) regardless, him and KYJ had amazing chemistry imo, aside from some of the v cringy lines the writer included for whatever reason, the two's chemistry carried the whole show. i started watching the drama for kim yoojung, and she did NOT disappoint. she somehow looked even prettier thanks to the amazing stylists. same to song kang, who i actually never realized was so handsome but damn the stylists really went tf off in this drama.
unfortunately, this and the great osts+visual effects are the only good parts. the story went downhill every episode tbh. gah damn the writing was so ass, and clearly with a LOT of borrowed elements from other dramas like Goblin😭
they did not have to do sm to hide who the villain was at first to just grand reveal it to be the most obvious villainy dude💀 no seokmin was the big bad guy? really? people literally overlooked him and thought it would be someone else as hr was such an obvious choice that no one would've ever been surprised...but damn. like um, yay for the lack of creativity?
what was the point of the first creepy assassin dude hired to
go after dohee? could've just shown no do-gyeong in disguise
(masked like the SGBS villain maybe?) carrying out no seok-min's tasks. it would have made do-gyeong's character more impactful. or hell, even seokhoon being evil like everyone else was guessing would've been better than the introduction of a completely new character who dies out randomly and has no other part.
wish the side characters like perilla leaf gang and the secretaries had more useful roles. tho the gang stuff was actually pretty funny at first, it could be better. the secretary romance could've been MUCH more as ms shin had past trauma about relationships, so it could have been very emotionally impactful if her relationship with bokgyu actually developed in a better way. But naw. it was just cringy.
i liked what they did with star jin at the end, the angel arc, but kinda wish that was dohee ngl. if star jin's character was completely removed from the show, it actually wouldn't change anything storywise. i think the whole "dohee's dad signing a contract w guwon and saving her life" plot was actually extremely unnecessary. it was interesting af when introduced, but they didn't make good use of it. poor dohee was yet again tortured mentally and emotionally, and then the inevitable breakup(ah, the return of the noble idiocy trope) which lasts like less than half an episode until they're back again(and then guwon leaves AGAIN goblin style and then comes back again in less than half the ep like girl😭😭😭 ). wtf was the point?
then the repetition of the past lives stuff from wolshim's pov. it added the "he saved me" part sure, but was mostly just recycled from guwon's flashbacks so stuff we had already seen. like, was all of this really necessary? we get that yall have a save each other trope going on, but damn they alr saved eo like a thousand times even without all these, like WE UNDERSTAND😭
they should've just chosen either the past lives stuff or dad's contract stuff tbh. or imo just made dohee that little girl instead of star jin, which would've been smmmm better as the dad would sign a contract anyway and she could've been able to be adopted by madam ju anyway if just a few tweaks were made to the story yk? but naw they aint doing that.
let's get to episode 15. oh god, the worst episode.
i think a better way to go about this would've been if seokmin, after reading the demon manual, realised that he just needed to kill people and then commit suicide for him to turn into a demon.
then it would've explained his invincibility because how tf did this ordinary ass guy get thrown against a wall with enough force to crack all his bones, get crushed by part of the cement ceiling, yet still somehow get up fine, run that far, grab his gun and shoot all within a few seconds of dohee and guwon hugging???and why didn't guwon just.....stop the bullet? if dohee had enough time to react and turn around to protect him, im sure guwon did too?
not to mention HOW THE HELL DID SEOKMIN SURVIVE THE
FALL FROM THAT TALL ASS TOWER? even if it was a river, there's barely any chances of survival as hitting still water from that height is like hitting concrete. plus he just set his damn face on fire and didn't even react???????? be so fr is the immortal powerful demon guwon or seokmin??
the writers really lost the plot after guwon got his powers back. i wish they'd just have wrapped it up there and not drag it on for 16 episodes and ruin the show like...
anyway, i LOVE yoojung in general (loved her in 20th century
girl!) + her w song kang is cuteee, so I stuck with the drama and enjoyed it a lot initially. this is sad, because i was lowkey emotionally attached to this and looked forward to every friday and saturday because of it. even tho i had a lot of negatives to say, i still liked it enough and i feel bad leaving a negative review. but i think i only liked it because of yoojung. if the leads were different, tho.... would've never finished it

It was great at first but it became a major letdown
The drama was wonderful at first, it was entertaining and it was painful to have to wait until the next episode. The chemistry between the actors was great, as well as the aesthetic. However it wasn't enough to save the drama in the end.
The plot became lame and uninteresting after the two lead settled in their happy life and the revenge against the villain seemed to be forgotten.
As much as Do Do Hee and Gu Wong's sweet and funny moments were a delight to watch at first, it turned to a tasteless comedy that didn't bring anything special anymore because it didn't relieved the stress of the episodes as it did at the beginning.
Speaking of comedy relief, the gang could have been a nice touch but it was under used and didn't live up to its potential.
About the villain : it was interesting to search clues on his identities at first but the last couple of episodes made him mediocre, I doubt he will leave a long lasting impression on the kdrama's villains' book
The plot really went downhill after the episode centered on Gu Won's past life, as interesting it might have been, it broke the pace of the story and starting episode 13, it only went worse.
Episode 14 : unnecessary breakup, and the fact that Gu Won killed Do Hee's parents didn't actually brought much to the plot, especially so late in the story
Episode 15 : bad and disappointing
Episode 16 : also disappointing
It seems like the story and its characters lost their sparks and became of shadow of what they could have been

Will be keeping my review short
This show for me went from 9/10 to 6-7/10.Stellar cast, production, outfits bgm but lack of utilizing the story & giving depth. It started out so damn well & went downhill the moment they started adding filler scenes from ep 9 onwards. The mystery wasnt mysterying because they had to come up with the most predictable villain. The Writer just wasted jin gayoung & SML character. The SML was nothing but just a SML of any other kdrama & jin star was nothing but a one sided lover of guwon. I thought their role had so much more to offer. For a title like "Demon" on top of fantasy drama , it clearly lacked the demonic supernatural tropes it was supposed to provide.
Now on good side, i like the fashion sense of both ML & FL. I liked song kang's comical acting. He was clearly doing his job according to the script & did well. The comedy scenes before ep 9 were actually funny. I had a good laugh. But

look copying is also an art and I think this one did a decent job
A perfectly average drama I must say. I have seen many dramas but this is the first one that made me think of a perfect 7.What was those drama you ask? Here is a short summary…. A copy.
It was literally using every cliche a fantasy Kdrama can ever think of the story is just trash and the sole thing that keeps you hooked is the Visuals and chemistry of ML and FL. But I guess it is not terrible nor excellent just a nice one time watch.
If I had to name all the dramas this series copied the list will be too long to count. But I can definately say this is not a totally original show. So If you want something original you should look somewhere else.
The OST is okay and the chemistry is amazing you will watch this entire show just because of the chemistry and characters. I must say that is the sole thing you would watch this show for.
Anyways it is a great one time watch and you will enjoy it if you don’t think much about the story and only focus on the chemistry.
Not my top pick but sure worth a watch

Cliche but Enjoyable!
The story was a bit cliche and inspired from all the other supernatural dramas but it is definitely a enjoyable watch. The supernatural fantasy moments are good though. The editing and VFX does adds upto the pros for this dramaBut I think the main selling point of this drama are the visual appeal of the leads !! OH MY GOD ! The chemistry between them is comfortable, natural and sizzling.
The cute interactions does make you smile.
SONG KANG was exceptional in this. I watched some behind the scenes of both Song Kang and Kim You Jung and loved it. I really liked how Kim You Jung was improvising while shooting and gently directly Song Kang as well.
The villian does give you creeps.
Though the story was nothing extraordinary but the acting and chemistry does make it a very enjoyable watch. I would definitely watch it again.

OMG!!! The drama itself is incredible with the perfect story line and the behind the scenes which shows an excellent chemistry between the actors, are also very fun and sweet to watch. Song Kang( Jeong Gu Won ) and Kim Yoo Jung ( Do Do Hee) are such professionals and they execute each and every episode spectacularly! I must also mention the directors , screen writers and the rest of the staff for making it possible for us to watch this so addicting visual drama which is full of emotional, funny, happy, romantic and scary scenes. All the actors did such a good job from the grandmother to the staffs in the office to make this drama a hit for the year 2023! Hwaiting!! I have only good things to say and write about this drama.
