The Love Child of AofL,L&R a LBF&D!
This is the love child of Ashes of Love, Love & Redemption and Love Between Fairy & Devil - well, at the very least a cross between them all.I actually do like all of the drama series mentioned above and although this one isn't perfect and has its flaws I've been able to watch 17 episodes in a row without a break - despite not being a fan of romance or rom-com.
The episodes are only like 30 or so minutes long and it seems there are only 24 rather than 49 or more. Must be a first!
Some may get frustrated as to why a certain somebody doesn't kill the night deity given half the chance (early on) or who in their right mind chooses to live lifetime after lifetime only to relive the same dismal fate, but that is what makes the story just that bit more interesting as it all unfolds - the history and background.
I don't think this will ever be quite as popular as Love Between Fairy and Devil or Ashes of Love, but at least this one doesn't have that annoying immature baby girl voice for the female lead throughout the whole series that must irritate most - no end. That is a plus in my books!
Recommend this one if you want something light hearted yet not so light hearted.

The Definition of "Tolerable"
With a mix of multiple tropes from various big name Xianxia-type shows, this show manages to be "watchable".There are absolutely periods of time where the level of investment was higher but then the story would shift focus again and go in another direction. If there were anything positive to say about doing this with so many IP homages, it's that there was a level of not 'quite' knowing where the story would go next in a definite sense.
Watching this with bullet comments enabled does add a level of humor to the show as people who have already watched point out JUST how wet and/or greasy the MLs wig looks, and JUST how much the script reminds them of a Wattspad fanfiction written by a teenager.
The acting goes from not bad and actually sort of good, to 'Please close your mouth when you're not talking'. Personally I found the chemistry lacking for much of the show until the last life.
By and large I felt little with each life's death as it was a "rinse and repeat" story plotline delivered with no emotional buildup. If you know that the cycle repeats, basically per episode at one point, why should the audience care?
