Set in Fukushima, 10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake. 17-year-old Akira loses his mother to radiation exposure in the nuclear accident, and his father goes to work as a decontamination worker, leaving his family torn apart. Akira's friend Shinichi worries about Akira, who has lost his place to turn to, and is just as lonely. One day, Akira meets the Koike couple who run a surf shop, and their employee Yuji, and gradually opens up his closed heart. However, the scars that will never heal quietly eat away at them.
