There are 3 season of this short drama i cover all 3

Okay, so it's important to first understand there are 3 actual seasons of this short drama. season 1 actually has 89 episodes season 2 has 100 and season 3 has 84 ep. So in total to watch seasons 1,2 and 3, you're going to watch a total of a 273 ep. There are some continuity issues specifically from the 1st season, which ends with someone else important to the story being reborn who then in later seasons is not reborn. There are also issues in the 2nd season specifically with names. One of the characters is called about 3 different names within that one season. One of the other characters gets his name mixed up with another character. It gets a little confusing, you just need to kind of ignore the names. I do think that was mostly a translation issue and the fact that they kept choosing to use english names for the characters rather than using their chinese character names.
Other things I did not like, was the fact that great Grandma was great at everything. She did not need to know how to play poker, do science, math, martial arts, fish, race cars, make flash bombs, sing, act, know psychology, acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine. It was just a little too excessive of great Grandma being a little too great ALL THE TIME. Also I like that actress and I know she was supposed to be playing a mature role, but the entire time I felt she was a little too stoic. If you're getting to live your life again from the age of 18 I would hope that you would show love and affection to your loved ones more than I felt like that character did.
But other than that, this is a funny light-hearted, usually sweet drama. It's got some really great, funny parts and it's got a really well built cast. j
Joey is usually the comic relief, but Felix and season 3 and Grant in season 2, it just builds out really well over the 3 seasons. Each one of the grandsons has a unique and different personality and fully written characters. It's also important to know that there's pretty much no romance. This is purely a family, comedy, kind of revenge drama.

I'm gonna try to break down the characters just to clarify, some of the continuity issues that occur in season 2.

First off you have great grandma which in the english version is named Eugene Reese

Then you have her son , who is Sean Johnson

Sean has a total of five grandson ( therefore, making them Eugene Reese's 5 great-grandsons)

Sean is Eugene and Seth Johnson's son.
(Seth dies before Eugene dies. Then Eugene dies when Sean is still a child)

After Eugene dies one of her closest friends, Chad Taylor takes care of Sean.
(and he is referred to as uncle Chad in both season 1, the brief time that he is in season 2 and season 3)

OK onto the grandsons.

We immediately meet Zane Johnson the 1st grandson. Who is the spitting image of Eugene's deceased husband Seth. He has one daughter named Dolly.

Then we meet the 5th grandson the youngest one Joey Johnson (second season is where Joey's name gets used for another character and it gets a little confusing. Just know that he is the youngest grandson with the blue hair).

Zane and Joey are the only two grandsons that we are aware of in season 1.

Season 2, we get introduced to the 4th grandson. Who is introduced as Julian Johnson He is the one who's name gets messed up most frequently. He is also referred to as Patrick, Joey and Justin within that one season. Again this is probably something to do with translation. Through a turn of events we find out that Julian is not actually a Johnson and that instead Grant is the real 4th grandson of the Johnson family.

Season 2, we also get introduced to Vincent.
You also have some name continuity issues and his name is clarified as Ethan in season 3. Ethan is the second oldest grandson.

Season 3. We finally meet the last of the 5 grandsons. Whose name is Felix and he is the 3rd oldest grandson.

So in order the grandsons:
1- Zane Johnson (CEO)
2- Ethan Johnson (Actor)
3- Felix Johnson (Prodigy- Adorable Charmer)
4- Grant Johnson (The lost then found)
5- Joey Johnson (Rebel/Troublemaker)

Sometime great resource are needed to be hit.

Okay when i watched this i have mixed emotion about it because sometimes it needs more privilege and luck to get noticed.

You can clearly see the difference between a high-budget and a regular short drama from this one. High-budget, high-quality scripts usually have a complete storyline, professional film editing, meticulous costumes and props, and clean cinematography. This drama embodies these characteristics, so its popularity is understandable.

I watched the first version and i quite like FL characterization of Rong Yu from Zhong Yujin (she was newbie but her characterization is the best from Tainai adaptation) but her supporting casts are not stellar compared to Li Keyi's version. I dropped Zhang Shan version and tried to watch Li Keyi version and yes i quite like the Ou Gang way for the grandpa. I was barely know about Zhang Tingyi back then but Wang Peiyan was quite well-known. However, Li Keyi's fit with the role isn't great, so aside from scenes created by cinematic language (wartime) and storytelling (the ship returning home and the chess game), some parts feel slightly jarring. The good thing is that it's a short drama, so the shots aren't too long, making it somewhat acceptable.

Still watchable and I love grandpa and Wang Peiyan character in here.
