From the U.S. to Taiwan, 'Weak Hero' takes over Netflix worldwide upon Season 2's release

Hospital Playlist spinoff, Resident Playbook, is a drama about doctors working at Yulje Hospital, depicting the growth of residents who dream of becoming wise doctors as they navigate their struggles.
Unlike the Hospital Playlist series, this time the series is centered around the obstetrics and gynecology department. The drama will encompass both obstetrics and gynecology, a field that has been relatively underrepresented in dramas.
Creator Shin Won Ho explained, "The plan was to heighten the focus on obstetrics and gynecology while covering stories from both obstetrics and gynecology to bring a fresh perspective," and added, "We chose OB/GYN because it's the only department in a hospital — where the most dramatic moments in life unfold — that encompasses every aspect of the human experience, from birth to aging, sickness, and death."
Shin Won Ho also highlighted the unique nature of OB/GYN, saying, "I thought, perhaps OB/GYN is the only department where people cry, and yet are congratulated." He went on to explain, "If obstetrics deals with the beginning of life, then gynecology shows scenes of pain and death. OB/GYN might be the department where you can see life most clearly, even if only indirectly."
He added, "In a way, Resident Playbook is a story about all kinds of beginnings in the world. Newcomers just starting out in society, babies who have just been born, and people who have just become mothers — viewers might enjoy watching it from that perspective."
Resident Playbook is set to premiere on April 12. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
