Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young & Kim Jae Young are confirmed to lead 'Liar, Lawyer'

Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young and Kim Jae Yeong are the next K-drama couple on the ENA channel. 

On August 6, it was officially confirmed that Choi Soo Young and Kim Jae Young will lead the upcoming romance mystery K-drama Liar, Lawyer. 

 Liar, Lawyer will center on the romance between a successful lawyer, who has been a fan of a K-pop idol for 15 years, and the idol himself, who deeply dislikes obsessive fans. When the idol is accused of murdering his group's leader and best friend, the lawyer takes on the case to prove his innocence. 

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Lee Gwang Young, who also created the series Call It Love, No, Thank You, The Secret Life of My Secretary, and The Scandal of Chun Hwa. Production company A Story will produce the upcoming series.

Liar, Lawyer will exclusively premiere on the broadcast channel ENA in the second half of 2025. It will also be available on the streaming platform KT Genie TV.

Choi Soo Young will portray the role of Maeng Se Na, a star criminal lawyer known as the 'lawyer for villains' because she takes on cases others avoid. As a longtime, secret fan of the K-pop group Gold Boys, she must hide her true identity when her favorite idol is involved in a murder case. Maeng Se Na works to uncover the truth and prove his innocence.

The Girls' Generation member shared her thoughts on the K-drama, "Because I know what it's like to be a fan, I couldn't put the script down. This is my first time playing both a lawyer and a fan, so I'm enjoying the contrasting sides of the character and am excited to show a new side of myself in this series."

Kim Jae Young will portray the role of Do Ra Ik, a vocalist and the visual of the five-member K-pop group Gold Boys. Although he once longed for the stage, the love of his fans became a burden, and he hid his inner darkness behind a bright smile. After being accused of murder, his life is turned upside down. He discards his mask and begins living life as if there's no tomorrow.

Kim Jae Young also shared his thoughts, saying, "I'm looking forward to this drama because of its unique story and mix of genres. I feel a bit of pressure, but I'm honored to be a part of it. I'm excited to fully showcase the character of vocalist Do Ra Ik."
