tvN's upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama Second Shot at Love is drawing attention with its teaser promoting alcohol abstinence, aiming to be Korea's first drama that recommends abstaining from drinking, featuring Han Geum Joo's (Choi Soo Young) journey to break free from a life of alcoholism.
Second Shot at Love follows Han Geum Joo, who considers herself a perfectly sensible drinker, taking on the challenge of quitting drinking.
The stellar cast includes Choi Soo Young (as Han Geum Joo), Gong Myung (as Seo Eui Joon), Kim Sung Ryung (as Kim Gwang Ok), Kim Sang Ho (as Han Jung Soo), and Jo Yoon Hee (as Han Hyun Joo).
The first teaser promoting abstinence from drinking opens with the narration, "Our country is lenient when it comes to alcohol," and gives a glimpse of Han Geum Joo living a life drowning in alcohol.
Through scenes of her clinking glasses at various gatherings, the teaser offers a glimpse into the life of an irrepressible Han Geum Joo for whom alcohol is essentially part of everyday life.
Her mood is at its peak — but warning signs flash just as brightly. Concerned voices cry out, "Geum Joo, stop drinking!", "Han Geum Joo!" as she becomes completely inebriated. Unable to watch any longer, Seo Eui Joon firmly says, "Han Geum Joo, you really need to quit drinking." But as if brushing off his words, she responds with nothing but a hiccup.
With this, Second Shot at Love is heightening anticipation as Korea's first drama that actively promotes giving up alcohol.
Second Shot at Love will premiere on May 12. Watch the teaser here.
