Wang Yu Wen and Zhou Keyu's 'Where Her Hemline Brushed' begins filming
On the morning of July 16, 2026, the suspense short drama Love You in the Dark officially began filming. Lead stars Guan Xiao Tong and Chen Xing Xu, along with the rest of the cast, gathered at the launch ceremony to mark the start of production.
The drama will now enter 65 days of on-location filming, with the entire shoot taking place at real locations.
The drama boasts a top-tier production team, with Huang Tien Jen at the helm. Renowned author Jiu Ye Hui and screenwriter Mou Xiao Ya have jointly penned the core screenplay.
Themed around "a bottomless chessboard and hands withdrawn mid-game," the story follows young entrepreneur Lu Xi Zhou and talented painter Meng Lu Sha, whose seemingly perfect relationship conceals layers of secrets, calculated moves, and emotional push and pull beneath the surface.
Breaking away from the formulaic tropes of sweet melodramas, the drama delves into the suspicion, forbearance, and emotional fractures within intimate relationships. Through nuanced psychological portrayals and suspenseful twists layered with carefully planted clues, it aims to deliver an urban drama that balances a gripping atmosphere with the raw emotional realities of adult life.
The lead cast is one of the drama's biggest appeals. Chen Xing Xu stars as male lead Lu Xi Zhou, breaking away from his previous sunny, boyish image to take on the role of a calculating businessman who appears gentle and refined on the outside but hides countless burdens, bringing to life restrained, surging, complex emotions throughout the performance.
Guan Xiao Tong breaks away from her youthful schoolgirl image to portray Meng Lu Sha, a perceptive and sensitive painter whose character embodies delicate beauty.
The two stars previously worked together as child actors in The Legend of Meng Lijun (《孟丽君传奇》). Reuniting on screen after many years, they have a long shared acting history that has heightened anticipation for the chemistry and dramatic tension they will bring to their scenes together.
