Han So Hee and Jeon Jong Seo's much-anticipated film, Project Y, will be first unveiled at this year's Toronto International Film Festival.

On July 22, it was revealed that the upcoming movie Project Y has been officially invited to the 50th Toronto International Film Festival's Special Presentation section, which will be held from September 4 to September 14.

The movie will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival before it officially hits theaters in South Korea.

A Toronto International Film Festival representative explained that Project Y was invited because it promises both "thrilling tension and deep emotional resonance." They highlighted the powerful combination of actresses Han So Hee and Jeon Jong Seo, the action, and their characters' fight for survival. The representative added that Project Y, with its "bold plans," is considered one of this year's most anticipated Korean films.

Project Y is a noir K-drama about two women of the same age who scheme to steal billions of won and gold bars, then disappear without a trace.

Han So Hee and Jeon Jeong Seo will portray the roles of Mi Seon and Do Gyeong, respectively, two friends who are the same age.

This will be the comeback of Han So Hee and Jeon Jeong Seo to the big screen after two years. In 2023, Han So Hee starred in the movie Heavy Snow while Jeon Jeong Seo led the film Ballerina

Aside from Han So Hee and Jeon Jeong Seo, the film consists of other cast members Kim Shin Rok, Kim Sung Cheol, and Oh My Girl's YooA

Project Y is the latest project of director Lee Hwan, who also created the films Young Adult Matters and Park Hwa Young. Climax Studio (Hellbound, D.P., Parasyte: The Grey, and Concrete Utopia) and WOW POINT (The Bequeathed) will produce the upcoming film.

According to reports, Project Y will premiere in Korean theaters within the year.
