At the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, Netflix’s smash-hit K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines dominated the night, with IU taking home the coveted “Best Actress” award for her powerful performance.

Stepping on stage to accept the honor, IU delivered a heartfelt and emotional speech, declaring, “When Life Gives You Tangerines is the most meaningful and proudest work of my life,” expressing her deep love and gratitude for the project.

“From the moment I received the offer, through filming, the wait for the premiere, and even now—this series has remained one of the most cherished experiences of my life. It was a true honor and immense joy to work alongside the Tangerines team.”

IU went on to express her appreciation for scriptwriter Im Sang Choon and director Kim Won Seok, along with the entire cast and crew. “Thanks to all of you, I was able to fully immerse myself and experience the most joy I’ve ever had on set,” she shared.

She gave special thanks for being entrusted with the role of Ae Sun—describing her as “the smartest, most talkative, and most lovable woman”—and offered heartfelt appreciation to her fans for their support.

“To all the Ae Suns who have lived boldly in a world that demanded we live vaguely, and to all the Geum Myeongs out there planting and nurturing dreams with quiet strength, I extend my deepest respect and gratitude.”

While IU gave her moving speech, Park Bo Gum was spotted in the audience beaming with pride—filming her moment with a huge smile, just like a dedicated fansite master. Once again, he embodied the spirit of Yang Gwan Sik, cheering her on with unmistakable warmth.

This heartwarming exchange reminded fans of the undeniable connection between the two stars—proving that the magic of Ae Sun and Gwan Sik lives on beyond the screen.

Huge congratulations to IU!
