IU has donated over 200 million Korean won to charities to celebrate the anniversary of her debut.

On September 18, IU's agency EDAM Entertainment announced that IU donated 200 million Korean won (approximately $145,000) under the name IUENA (This name is the combination of IU's name and her fandom's name UAENA).

The 200 million Korean won was given to different charities such as the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, Make-A-Wish Korea, the Heart to Heart Foundation, and the Korea Senior Citizens Support Foundation, each receiving 50 million KRW (about $36,000).

The donations will go toward supporting critically ill children, people with disabilities, young adults transitioning to independence, and elderly individuals living alone.

This is not the first time that IU has donated a large amount of money under the name IUENA. The singer-actress has been consistent in donating on every special celebration in her life, like her debut anniversary, birthday, and more.

2025 has been a great year for IU. She led the hit Netflix original K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. She worked alongside Park Bo Gum, Moon So Ri, Park Hae Joon, Kim Yong Rim, and Na Moon Hee. Through this K-drama, she also received the Best Actress award at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards.

IU also recently surprised fans with a new track titled Bye, Summer, released last week. She is also set to conclude her fan meeting on September 13 and 14.

She is set to greet viewers next year through the upcoming MBC K-drama Wife of a 21st Century Prince. She will work alongside Byeon Woo Seok, Steve Noh, Gong Seung Yeon, Yoo Soo Bin, and Lee Yeon in the upcoming romance K-drama. IU is currently filming for the series.

IU debuted as a singer in 2008 and began her acting career in 2011. She is currently active as both a singer and an actress.
