Jeon So Nee and Lee You Mi aim to move hearts with powerful performances in 'As You Stood By'

Jeon So Nee and Lee You Mi share comments on their characters in Netflix's As You Stood By.

As You Stood By tells the story of Eun Su (Jeon So Nee) and Hui Su (Lee You Mi), who decide to kill Jin Pyo, Hui Su's abusive husband, to escape a hellish life.

Jeon So Nee, who has delivered spectacular performances in diverse genres, returns with a new character transformation as Cho Eun Su in the upcoming Netflix series. Unable to escape the trauma of her past, Eun Soo is a woman who resolves to save her friend Cho Hui Su, who is mired in pain.

Jeon So Nee said, "They say people can display superhuman strength when trying to save someone else, and I was grateful to be able to express those different sides of that [emotion] while portraying Eun Soo."

Lee You Mi comes as Cho Hui Su. Once a promising children's book writer, Hee Soo lives a hellish life under her husband's violence. In a desperate bid to escape, she decides to kill her husband with the help of Eun Su.

"I tried to express Hui Su's emotions exactly as I felt them. I believed it was important to carefully examine the emotions I feel as Hui Su without any prejudice," the actress shared. 

Eun Su, trapped in the hell of her past, and Hui Su, who cannot flee the hell of her present — Jeon So Nee and Lee You Mi are expected to deliver an intense synergy as two desperate women.

As You Stood By will premiere on November 7, only on Netflix.
