Undercover High School actress Jin Ki Joo shares her thoughts about her drama character, working with Seo Kang Joon, and more.

Undercover High School tells the story of a National Intelligence Service agent, Jung Hae Seong (Seo Kang Joon), who goes undercover as a high school student to track the whereabouts of Emperor Gojong's missing gold bars.

Jin Ki Joo plays the role of Oh Soo Ah, a temporary teacher at Byeongmoon High School. Always positive and easygoing, she loves her students and pours all her energy into becoming a full-time teacher. Fully immersed in her role, Jin Ki Joo is said to have perfectly portrayed Soo Ah's charming personality.

Explaining the reason she chose Undercover High School, the actress said, "It felt appealing because it's a show you can enjoy with laughter and ease, like a 'mealtime companion.'" About her character Oh Soo Ah, she said, "Oh Soo Ah is a teacher who loves her students a lot, but she has [other] reason [of her own] why she must become a full-time teacher. These two aspects clash, creating dilemmas and blurring the line between her goals and methods."

Talking about her character transformation, she said, "I wanted to understand the dilemmas that teachers face. So before filming began, I personally sought advice [from them], which answered my questions and [helped me] approach the character with more confidence."

She also spoke about her experience acting alongside Seo Kang Joon, saying, "Seo Kang Joon really is a veteran actor, and I'm grateful that he became a dependable leader for us [on set]. Our synergy is great, and thanks to that, everyone had fun filming."

Jin Ki Joo chose the keywords "chaotic," "students," and "a teacher who's like a friend" to describe her character, Oh Soo Ah. She explained, "These three keywords define Soo Ah. Among them, 'students' are the most important because they are both the goal of Soo Ah's life and a source of strength for her."

Concluding, Jin Ki Joo shared a message, saying, "I believe [watching] this drama will be a fun way to wrap up your weekend nights. I hope you'll conclude your day with Undercover High School. Wishing you all good health."

Undercover High School is set to premiere on February 21. The K-drama will be streaming on KOCOWA+ and Viu.
