Jung Kyung Hoo and So Ju Yeon will work together in the upcoming comedy K-drama Pro Bono.
On April 28, it was officially confirmed that Jung Kyung Ho and So Ju Yeon are the main leads of the upcoming tvN K-drama Pro Bono.
Pro Bono will tell the story of lawyers who handle pro bono (for the public good in Latin) cases with zero fees and revenue. It will showcase the journey of a former judge turned pro bono lawyer because of an incident.
The K-drama will be the joint work of director Kim Seong Yoon (Itaewon Class, Love in the Moonlight, and Who Are You: School 2015) and writer Moon Yoo Seok (The Devil Judge and Miss Hammurabi).
Actress Lee Yoo Young will also reportedly join Jung Kyung Ho and So Ju Yeon in the upcoming K-drama.
Pro Bono is set to air in the second half of 2025.
Jung Kyung Ho plays Kang David, a highly successful former judge who transitioned to public interest law after an incident. His impressive legal talent and clean image have earned him a large social media following. Now a pro bono lawyer, he's determined to rebuild his reputation.
Before Jung Kyung Ho becomes Kang David, he will first lead the soon-to-premiere fantasy law K-drama Oh My Ghost Clients with Seol In Ah, VIXX's Cha Hak Yeon, Tang Jun Sang, Kyung Soo Jin, and Yoo Sun Ho.
The actor was also recently seen in the tvN series Resident Playbook, wherein he made a special cameo appearance and reprised his role as Dr. Kim Jun Wan.
So Ju Yeon portrays Park Ki Bum, a top-tier law graduate who has fulfilled her ambition of becoming a lawyer. A passionate pro bono advocate, she finds joy in her work, helping good people pursue justice.
This will be the next work of So Ju Yeon after the 2024 K-drama The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. She worked with other leads, Jung Ryeo Won, Wi Ha Joon, Kim Jong Tae, Kim Jung Young, and Kil Hae Yeon.
Aside from Pro Bono, So Ju Yeon will also star in the upcoming series Sorry for Confessing with Kim Kang Min and Yeon Je Hyung.
