Kim Bum is finally returning to the romantic comedy genre after a long time.

On May 28, media outlets reported that Kim Bum will be added to the cast of the upcoming SBS romantic comedy K-drama Sold Out Again Today

Kim Bum's agency, King Kong by Starship, later confirmed that the actor is joining the upcoming SBS K-drama. This will also mark Kim Bum's return to the romantic comedy genre, which many fans have been requesting for a long time.

Aside from this K-drama being the grand comeback of Kim Bum to rom-com, this will also be his return to the small screen after three years. 

Kim Bum last starred in the 2023 K-drama Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 with Lee Dong Wook, Kim So Yeon, Ryu Kyung Soo, Kim Yong Ji, and Hwang Hee

He also made a cameo appearance last year in the series Wedding Impossible, led by Jeon Jong Seo, Moon Sang Min, Kim Do Wan, Bae Yoon Kyung, and Kwon Hae Hyo.

Kim Bum has starred in various genres since his popularity surged with the 2009 hit K-drama Boys over Flowers

He is best known for being part of the K-dramas Ghost Doctor, Law School, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, That Winter, the Wind Blows, Padam Padam, Boys over Flowers, and more.

Sold Out Again Today will tell the romance story of two work-driven individuals seeking to fill the emptiness in their hearts. It will showcase the story of Matthew Lee, a farmer working hard with three jobs, and Dam Ye Jin, a home shopping host suffering from chronic insomnia.

Director An Jong Yeon (Seoul Busters) and rookie writer Jin Seung Hee will work together for the upcoming K-drama.

Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin are also confirmed to be the main leads alongside Kim Bum.  

Kim Bum will play Seo Eric, a relaxed yet proactive executive director for a global skincare brand in France, who applies this attitude to both his work and love life.

Sold Out Again Today will reportedly premiere in 2026. It will have a total of 12 episodes, and it will exclusively air on SBS.
