
Kim Sung Cheol and Park Bo Young will reportedly lead the thriller romance K-drama Goldland.
On February 26, media outlets reported that Kim Sung Cheol has been chosen to be Park Bo Young's leading man in the upcoming K-drama Goldland.
Kim Sung Cheol's agency Story J Company responded to the casting reports. According to them, "Goldland is one of the works offered to Kim Sung Cheol. He is currently reviewing the K-drama."
If Kim Sung Cheol confirms his casting, this will be his first upcoming K-drama to lead. The actor will also join in a supporting role in the upcoming Netflix original series Boyfriend on Demand. He will work alongside the main leads Kim Ji Soo and Seo In Guk.
Aside from K-dramas, Kim Sung Cheol will also appear in two upcoming films such as Project Y and The Old Woman with the Knife.
Last year, Kim Sung Cheol became the main lead of the Netflix original series Hellbound Season 2. He also made his debut in the Disney+ with the K-drama No Way Out: The Roulette.
Goldland will reveal the happenings at the first casino in Korea built on abandoned mines, which have been underdeveloped due to the specification of the coal business.
Director Kim Sung Hoon (Chief Detective 1958 and My Little Hero) and writer Hwang Jo Yoon (Rampant, Memoir of a Murderer, and Confidential Assignment) will work together to create the upcoming K-drama. Studio Dragon will reportedly produce the series.
Kim Sung Cheol got the offer to portray the role of Woo Gi, the junior high school classmate of Park Bo Young's character Kim Hui Ju.
Park Bo Young will give life to the character named Kim Hui Ju. She was born into a poor family. After becoming independent and away from her parents, she fell in love with a man she met while working in Goldland. She will face difficulties in both love and money after being involved in a mysterious murder case.
According to reports, Godland will premiere through a streaming platform.
