
Korean actors commemorate Children's Day by offering a helping hand through their generous donations.
On May 5th, several Korean actors celebrated Children's Day in various ways. Some shared childhood photos with fans, while others offered a helping hand through different donations.
Singer and actress IU continued her history of generous giving by donating 150 million Korean won (approximately $107,000) under the name IUaena (a blend of her name and her fan club, Uaena) for Children's Day. The donation will aid youth transitioning to independence and enhance the living conditions of children with disabilities. IU has consistently given generously on various occasions, including Children's Day, since her debut.
Actor Zo In Sung celebrated Children's Day by gifting sneakers and snacks to children. He covers the monthly snack expenses for an orphanage in Seoul’s Gangdong-gu and also pays for the children's birthday cakes.
Actress Kim Go Eun has continued her tradition of celebrating Children's Day with a donation of 50 million Korean won (approximately $36,000) to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital. Since 2021, her yearly donation has been used to enhance the medical environment and assist with the medical costs of children facing chronic and critical illnesses.
Actress Park Bo Young also made a generous Children's Day donation of 20 million Korean won (approximately $14,000) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. This contribution will support improved facilities and treatment at a children's hospital in Seoul. Aside from the donation, Park Bo Young has consistently volunteered at children's hospitals.
Meanwhile, IU is set to star in the upcoming K-drama Wife of a 21st Century Prince with Byeon Woo Seok, Steve Noh, and Gong Seung Yeon. According to reports, the production and filming will begin soon.
Actor Zo In Sung has recently founded his agency alongside fellow actor Cha Tae Hyun. Additionally, he is set to appear in the upcoming films Humint and Hope.
Kim Go Eun, on the other hand, will return to the K-drama scene after three years. She will lead the upcoming series The Price of Confession and You and Everything Else.
Lastly, Park Bo Young's second K-drama project for 2025 is soon to premiere. She will take the lead role in Our Unwritten Seoul alongside GOT7's Park Jin Young, and the drama is scheduled to air on May 24.
