Lee Jun Hyuk and Kang Han Na will star as a married couple in the upcoming drama The Remarried Empress.

Kang Han Na's agency, Beyond J, told Star News on November 12, "Kang Han Na will play the role of Krista in The Remarried Empress." Krista is the Empress of the Western Kingdom. She is also Heinrey's childhood friend and first love, but she married Wharton III for political reasons. 

Lee Jun Hyuk's agency also confirmed to Star News, "Lee Jun Hyuk will make a special appearance in The Remarried Empress as Wharton III." Wharton III is the elder brother of Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) and the former king of the Western Kingdom, with Krista as his wife.

The Remarried Empress tells the story of Empress Navier (Shin Min Ah), the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, who is divorced by her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon), and subsequently marries Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk) of the Western Kingdom.    

Shin Min Ah takes on the role of Empress Navier of the Eastern Empire. Ju Ji Hoon will play Emperor Sovieshu, the ruler of the Eastern Empire. Lee Jong Suk takes on the role of Heinrey, Crown Prince and heir to the throne of the Western Kingdom, who harbors a secret.  Lee Se Young takes on the role of Rashta, a runaway slave with stunning beauty. She enters the palace as Sovieshu's concubine, marking the beginning of the downfall of his marriage to Empress Navier. 

The K-drama is based on a globally popular webtoon that has amassed over 2.6 billion cumulative views worldwide. 

The drama is directed by Jo Soo Won, known for Doctor JohnThirty but Seventeen, and Pinocchio, with the script written by Yeo Ji Na of The Uncanny Counter. It is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
