Lee Jung Jae presents his vision for the future of the entertainment industry in the wake of technological advancements such as the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), outlining the industry's growth prospects.
At the 9th Innovate Korea 2025 forum hosted by KAIST, under the theme 'Tech Up the Party!', in Daejeon on April 9, actor Lee Jung Jae shared his vision as an actor turned entertainment entrepreneur, envisioning the growth of the enter-tech (entertainment and technology) industry.
The event featured a discussion between actor Lee Jung Jae, who serves as a director at Artist Company, which encompasses drama and film production as well as artist management, and CEO Hwang Kyung Joo. Together, they explored the growth potential arising from the convergence of science, technology, and the entertainment industry.
At the event, Lee Jung Jae was asked about the dual nature — crisis and opportunity — of integrating AI with the film industry. In response, he stated, "I can really sense the emergence of AI when I'm on set, and I see it as an opportunity." He continued, "If we view AI not as an automation tool but as a partner that expands the creator's imagination, then amidst the countless possibilities AI presents, it is still up to us to decide what stories to tell — and it is people, not algorithms, who create true emotion."
In fact, Artist Company signed a business agreement this past January with global AI startup Perplexity, announcing plans to actively pursue new AI ventures, particularly in the domestic B2B market. Lee Jung Jae went on to say, "As an actor, I still want to meet audiences through new stories and quality works and contribute to the value of K-content. At the same time, as a business leader, I want to connect technology and content to create a new ecosystem."
He added, "I hope to grow Artist Company into a global enter-tech enterprise with AI-based fandom platforms and interactive content, and be remembered in 10 years as someone who created a new success story by bridging technology and content."
