Boyhood actress Lee Sun Bin comes to play a warm-hearted and bold character in The Potato Lab.

The Potato Lab follows Kim Mi Kyung (Lee Sun Bin), a passionate researcher obsessed with potatoes and So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), a charismatic but ruthless capitalist driven by making profits. So Baek Ho arrives at the potato research center in a mountain valley, where he clashes with Kim Mi Kyeong.

On February 5, the production team released still cuts featuring Lee Sun Bin, who plays the passionate potato researcher Kim Mi Kyung in the K-drama.

Kim Mi Kyung is a character who, rather than spending her time working in a research lab, is often found digging through the soil and rolling around in potato fields and greenhouses. Her casual look, wearing a sun visor and floral-patterned arm sleeves while standing at a farmer's classroom, hints at her easygoing and lively personality.

Actress Lee Sun Bin shared her thoughts about the project, saying, "I read the script really quickly. When I first read it, I felt that I could showcase realistic and relatable acting in a fun and engaging way. I wanted to challenge myself with a lovely and warm work like The Potato Lab."

Talking about her character Kim Mi Kyung, Lee Sun Bin shared, "Mi Kyung may seem like a tough, righteous person with a fiery personality, but she's also very kind, emotional, and full of love. She is very empathetic — a 200% F-type [MBTI] personality." She continued, "Since Mi Kyung is a character with many charms, I put a lot of effort into portraying her diverse and lovable sides." She added, "Mi Kyung has a charm similar to potato pancakes — warm and unforgettable. Please give her lots of love."

The Potato Lab will premiere on March 1. News about the K-drama's global OTT platform is yet to come.
