'My Royal Nemesis' Heo Nam Jun on his dynamics with his twin brother, working at a construction site

The latest episode of tvN's variety show Yoo Quiz on the Block featured My Royal Nemesis actor Heo Nam Jun as a guest, during which he shared stories about his family, working part-time, and more.
When asked whether he feels his popularity, Heo Nam Jun said, "These days, it feels like people around me are paying a lot of attention to me, and I've been getting a ton of messages. It makes me happy, but what really makes it hit home is appearing on Yoo Quiz. When I got the call, I was like, 'Me? I'm going on Yoo Quiz?'"
When Yoo Jae Suk said, "Nam Joon, you must be really happy. That's probably why the corners of your mouth won't come down," Heo Nam Jun agreed, replying, "Yes."
He then revealed that after receiving the call from Yoo Quiz, he kept it a secret from those around him. "Ever since before, whenever one of my projects came out, people around me would ask, 'Aren't you going on variety shows or anything like that?' and my family too said the same. My twin younger brother would always say, 'Aren't you going on Yoo Quiz? Ah, not yet?' Since I kept hearing those kinds of things a lot, when I finally got to appear, I wanted it to be a surprise. Normally I tell people first, like 'I'm doing this,' but this time I didn't tell anything at all."

On the show, Heo Nam Jun also revealed that he was very serious about exercise even during his college days.
When Yoo Jae Suk mentioned a report from one of his college classmates calling him "guy obsessed with the gym," Heo said, "I thought that was my only competitive edge... I would go straight to the gym to work out and even pack meal boxes."
The actor further shared he had previously worked part-time at a construction site: "I had to go early, so I used to wake up at 4 a.m. I thought I was pretty fit from working out, but after the first day, it felt like my body was breaking apart."
"Normally [I] don't work on weekends, but I did it seven days a week for three straight months. They paid me 130,000 won per day, so I made 910,000 won a week. I was so happy. I kept earning and saved it all."
Heo also revealed, "I couldn't handle the shoe store part-time job. I feel so apologetic toward the boss. When a customer said, 'These shoes are nice,' I was supposed to go bring them, but I couldn't even figure out the procedure properly, to the point where my self-esteem dropped. I worked there for over a month."
"I prefer jobs where I have to use my body, like [working at] Korean barbecue restaurants, over jobs that require thinking. I like it when I just do what I'm told with my body."

"My father is a farmer, so I'm good at farm work too. When my father would leave me in the fields, I would collect rice straw while enjoying the sunlight. I even know how to operate a combine harvester," adding, "Around March or April, during seed planting season, I even brought five of my friends along."
"But my father has changed a lot lately. In the past, he used to say, 'What are you so busy with?' but now he says, 'Don't come. You're busy, why would you come here?'" He continued, "I'm doing well now, and my parents are happier because of it. That's what makes me happiest."
When Yoo Jae Suk mentioned, "I heard your twin brother is tall and handsome," Heo Nam Jun bluntly said, "By my standards, he's not handsome."
"My brother was more popular during our school days. I was a late bloomer when I was young, and I was shorter than my peers. But my brother was tall, had a solid frame, and broad shoulders."
When asked what his younger twin brother calls him, Heo Nam Jun replied, "He just says 'Ya (hey).'" "But when he needs something, he sends me a link and goes, 'Hyung, this looks good. Buy it for me hyung.'"
