Girls Generation's Choi Soo Young is making her debut in Hollywood!
Nam Ji Hyun and Kim Jae Young's upcoming project will reportedly be a romantic comedy K-drama.
On April 9, various media outlets reported that Nam Ji Hyun and Kim Jae Young have been selected to lead the upcoming TVING rom-com K-drama Nyuneo.
Representatives for both Nam Ji Hyun and Kim Jae Young haven't responded to the casting news.
Nyuneo will showcase the romance story of a woman raised in a conservative household and a man who sells sex toys for a living. Their connection leads them to question their own beliefs and grow in unexpected ways.
Nam Ji Hyun got the offer to play the role of Yeon Seo, the woman who was raised in a conservative household, while Kim Jae Young will reportedly be the male lead who sells sex toys for a living.
The upcoming K-drama will be the joint work of director Kim Ye Ji (Drama Festa: Schadenfreude) and writer Ahn Sae Bom (Soundtrack #1).
The upcoming K-drama is reportedly set to have 12 episodes. Currently, the production team is in the preparation phase, with filming scheduled to start in the second half of 2025.
Nyuneo will exclusively air on TVING.
This will possibly be the grand comeback of Nam Ji Hyun to the rom-com genre. Last year, Nam Ji Hyun led the hit K-drama Good Partner, which was recently announced to have a second season. The actress will also star in the upcoming series, Dear Bandit.
If Kim Jae Young decides to join Nyuneo, this will be his fourth upcoming K-drama.
The actor will appear in the ongoing series The Divorce Insurance in a cameo role. He will also star in the upcoming K-dramas Liar, Lawyer, and My Lovely Journey.
Last year, Kim Jae Young gained a lot of new fans through the K-drama The Judge from Hell. He worked alongside Park Shin Hye, Kim In Kwon, Kim Ah Young, Lee Joong Ok, and Ha Kyung Min.
