The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf, starring Park Bo Gum and Joo Won and directed by Kim Han Min of The Admiral: Roaring Currents, has officially begun filming.

The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf is an upcoming action historical blockbuster set in the aftermath of Goguryeo's fall that tells the story of a man who, after losing his memory, becomes a slave and enters a tournament for a legendary sword. According to local reports, the filming for the K-movie began on March 3.

Park Bo Gum plays Chil Seong, a warrior who has lost his memory. After the fall of Goguryeo, Chil Seong is thrown into a gladiator arena and struggles to survive while having lost his memory. Opposing him is Gyepil Haryeok, played by Joo Won, a cold and formidable warrior representing the Göktürks in the tournament. Jung Jae Young plays Heuk Su Gang, the leader of a Goguryeo restoration army, while Lee Sun Bin takes on the role of Maya, a member of that restoration army.

Vietnamese star Tran Thanh plays Xue Rengui, the chief of the Tang Dynasty's Andong Protectorate. Kim Jae Chul plays the Khitan strategist Yayul, Choi Gwi Hwa plays the Khitan Chieftain Dae Ha Jin Chung, and Park Myung Hoon plays Pung Sa, who used to be a gatekeeper of Liaodong Fortress.

The stills show director Kim Han Min and the cast coming together for a reading, where they are seen rehearsing not only the dialogue but also the action sequences. More than a standard script read-through, the session served as a full-scale rehearsal blending movement and lines, allowing the actors to settle more deeply into their roles and enrich the story.

The Sword: Rebirth of the Red Wolf has plans for a 2027 release. Stay tuned!
