From the U.S. to Taiwan, 'Weak Hero' takes over Netflix worldwide upon Season 2's release
Park Jin Young takes up the role of ace lawyer Lee Ho Su in Our Unwritten Seoul.
Our Unwritten Seoul is a coming-of-age story of twin sisters who look the same but are opposite in every other way, swapping lives in search of their real selves.
In the K-drama, Park Jin Young plays Lee Ho Su, an ace lawyer at a major law firm, who is blessed with both looks and capability.
Lee Ho Su is a sincere and kind-hearted character who doesn't speak lightly of others. On the outside, he appears flawless — someone who has it all — but upon closer look, he fights fiercely every day in pursuit of an ordinary life.
Park Jin Young shared, "As I read the script, the way the characters tried to live well while hiding their deep wounds felt very much like us," and, "I was drawn by the question of how I would portray a character like Ho Su, and that curiosity ultimately led me to choose this project."
Talking about his character, he explained, "I felt that he's a character going through puberty before entering adulthood," and added, "The way he tries hard not to hurt others, hiding his wounds rather than showing them — that sincerity came across as the charm that defines Ho Su."
He also said, "I hoped viewers would remember Ho Su as a taciturn person, even though he has a lot of dialogue," and added, "I tried to speak slowly and built the character by maintaining a slow rhythm while delivering the lines."
Lastly, Park Jin Young described Our Unwritten Seoul as "a story about growth, as Miji and Mirae swap lives." He also added, "The biggest appeal of Our Unwritten Seoul might be the tension that comes with the feeling like it's [the secret] about to be exposed, yet never quite is."
Our Unwritten Seoul premieres on May 24. The K-drama will be available on Netflix.
