With its unique story and unforgettable characters, the series left a strong impression, so much so that fans are now having post-drama blues. Fortunately, both stars have an exciting lineup ahead. Here are some of the watchlist-worthy upcoming Chinese dramas from Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei.

1. Overdo

Overdo tells the story of Murong Qing Yi (Zhang Ling He) and Ren Su Su (Wang Chu Ran), who, amid the upheavals of a chaotic era, become bound by fate after a rescue.

From misplaced identities to deep family feuds, from heart-wrenching separation to a complicated reunion, the two are repeatedly pulled between love and hatred. Side by side, they step into peril, embarking together on this Republican-era drama of passion, love, hatred, and cathartic revenge.

The C-drama is adapted from Fei Wo Si Cun's novel "If I Hadn't Met You This Second" (literal Chinese title). Zhang Ling He will be seen alongside Wang Chu Ran

According to Sina Finance, Murong Qing Yi is a doctor who returns after studying in the UK. After injuring his hand and finding himself unable to perform surgery, he takes on the role of an aviation school principal. The story centers on his identity as a patriot devoted to saving the country and its people.

Overdo is expected to premiere this year and will be streaming on iQIYI and WeTV.

2. The Road to Glory

The Road to Glory tells the story of Xiao Li (Zhang Ling He), the head of the East Market in Yongzhou, who unexpectedly saves Wen Yu (Jelly Jin), a princess of a fallen kingdom who was on her way south to borrow troops.

Xiao Li helps her eliminate the traitor Pei Song, while he himself rises from a street ruffian to become the King of Wei, ruling over half the realm. However, as power reaches its peak, their relationship grows increasingly intricate and complicated.

The drama is adapted from the novel of the same Chinese name. Zhang Ling He stars alongside Jelly Lin.

Zhang plays Xiao Li, who comes from humble beginnings and, after struggling through the streets, gradually rises to power.

The Road to Glory is reportedly under filming at the time of writing. Upon release, it will stream on WeTV.

3. Genius Girlfriend

Genius Girlfriend tells the story of the genius girl Lin Zhi Xia (Tian Xi Wei) joining forces with her academically outstanding childhood friend Jiang Yu Bai (Hu Yi Tian) to navigate a thorny path from campus [school/college] to marriage.

This drama is adapted from the novel of the same Chinese name by Su Guang Tong. Tian stars alongside Hu Yi Tian

Tian Xi Wei plays Lin Zhi Xia. Her character is portrayed as a straightforward, socially awkward genius girl who gradually opens up after meeting Jiang Yu Bai. Their relationship develops from competitors to life partners.

Genius Girlfriend wrapped up filming on November 17, 2025. The release date is yet to be announced. Upon announcement, the C-drama will air on iQIYI.

4. Where the Mask Ends

Where the Mask Ends tells the story of Wei Rao and Ah Chou (dual roles played by Tian Xi Wei).

Ah Chou was originally a lowly girl who collected night soil and was bullied by everyone. Because she has a face strikingly similar to Wei Rao, the daughter of the noble household, she unexpectedly becomes the bride of Lu Zhuo, heir of a duke's household. Ambitious and determined, Ah Chou tries to use this chance to rise in status. However, her newlywed husband, who was on the brink of death, suddenly wakes up, which results in a series of disasters.

The drama is adapted from the novel of the same Chinese name by Xiao Jia Ren. Tian Xi Wei stars alongside Yan An.

According to the novel, Wei Rao possesses striking beauty, yet because of her grandmother and mother's reputation, as well as her own flamboyant looks, she is regarded by elite families in the capital as a "frivolous and bewitching" misfit. No one dares to marry her. Wei Rao is free-spirited and has the gift of the gab. She practices martial arts and can endure hardship. Though she appears a spoilt and pampered young woman, she is in fact clear-minded, unwilling to be bound by societal prejudice.

Where the Mask Ends began filming in December 2025. Upon release, it'll air on YOUKU.
