From the U.S. to Taiwan, 'Weak Hero' takes over Netflix worldwide upon Season 2's release
The Demon Hunter's Romance, starring Ren Jia Lun and Song Zu Er, announced April 12 premiere.
The C-drama is adapted from Ban Ming Ban Mei's novel "Ban Xia", and follows the demon hunter Xuan Ye and the young girl Ban Xia, as they experience thrilling and strange cases in a world where humans and demons coexist.
In the city of Guangping, where humans and demons co-exist, demons skillfully disguise themselves as humans. Young Ban Xia possesses a special ability that enables her to see through supernatural illusions. Despite her efforts to blend in, she is often considered "crazy" due to her unusual ability. When she discovers that her sister-in-law is a demon, she is pursued by powerful forces and crosses paths with Xuan Ye, a skilled demon hunter.
The duo work together to investigate mysterious occurrences in Guangping, such as the healing power of the Biyu Pear, the Nine Lives Cat, the Guangping Spring Dawn Painting, and the Cycle of Rebirth. However, Xuan Ye harbors a secret, leading him to confront the unsettling possibility that he himself may be a demon.
Ren Jia Lun plays Xuan Ye. Carefree and confident, after the tragic loss of his family, he shoulders a heavy responsibility, hunting demons and saving lives.
Song Zu Er plays Ban Xia. Well-behaved and sensible, she follows the rules and possesses a special ability, which makes her enigmatic and mysterious.
The fantasy thriller also stars Hankiz Omar, Xuan Yan, Liu Ruo Gu, and Liu Qi Qi, among others.
