Director and creator Shin Won Ho responds to questions about the possibility of Hospital Playlist Season 3 and Resident Playbook Season 2 and teases the next cameo appearance in the currently airing Resident Playbook.
On April 15, a Director's Talk for tvN's latest release, Resident Playbook (creators: Shin Won Ho, Lee Woo Jung; writer: Kim Song Hee; director: Lee Min Soo), was held in Seoul.
At the event, director Shin Won Ho responded to the question of whether Resident Playbook might also receive installments, saying, "I think I gave the same answer for Hospital Playlist as well. It really depends entirely on the viewers. Whether it's through numbers or through heartfelt responses — if that gets conveyed to us... To be honest, I'm still constantly feeling stressed about Hospital Playlist. Spanning from the actors to the viewers, there's constant pressure [about a lot of things]," he said with a laugh.
"I think it'll be the same for Resident Playbook. If we feel that viewers are urging for a second season, then we'll probably go ahead with it. In the end, it's really the viewers who make a sequel possible." Director Lee Min Soo added, "We hope for lots of love and support."
Episode 2 of Resident Playbook featured a cameo by Ahn Eun Jin, who came as Chu Min Ha, a prominent character in tvN's Hospital Playlist. Morepver, it has already been hinted that the five iconic doctors of Yulje Hospital — Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk), An Jeong Won (Yoo Yeon Seok), Kim Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho), Yang Seok Hyeong (Kim Dae Myung), and Chae Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do) — will be making special appearances as well.
Teasing the next cameo, creator Shin Won Ho shared, "In almost every episode, characters from Hospital Playlist make cameo appearances. Some scenes are just for fun, while others, in a way, serve as important connecting links."
Shin Won Ho added, "As writer Kim Song Hee was working on the script, some of the main Hospital Playlist cast members naturally came to be included where needed. This week, the stern and intimidating Kim Jun Wan [played by Jung Kyung Ho] will appear. If you've been missing Kim Jun Wan, we'd be grateful if you wait and tune in."
Resident Playbook is streaming on Netflix.
