'Teach You a Lesson' Kim Mu Yeol admits childcare is harder than work
SBS signs an agreement with U.S. terrestrial broadcaster Sinclair to transmit its content nationwide across the United States via over-the-air television, and the two parties have signed a "strategic partnership" to that end. The deal reflects the growing global demand for Korean television content and highlights SBS's efforts to diversify international distribution channels beyond traditional cable and streaming platforms.

On January 8, SBS (CEO Bang Moon Shin) and Sinclair (President of Technology Del Parks) signed a memorandum of understanding in Las Vegas, where CES 2026 is being held, to strengthen global content collaboration.
Sinclair plans to establish a K-content channel by expanding the application of “ATSC 3.0,” a next-generation technology that combines terrestrial broadcasting with high-speed internet. SBS has agreed to supply this channel with its major drama series and entertainment programs. Once this broadcasting service becomes fully operational in the United States, it will mark the first instance of Korean terrestrial broadcast content being transmitted directly through a U.S. local terrestrial broadcasting network.
In addition to the distribution of content, SBS and Sinclair also agreed to strengthen cooperation in AI content production and broadcast advertising.
SBS CEO Bang Moon Shin said, "Transmission of SBS content via U.S. terrestrial television will enable a large number of Americans to watch SBS content. It's very exciting," adding, "SBS plans to further accelerate cooperation with global media groups to expand the reach of Korean TV content."
President of Technology of Sinclair, Del Parks, stated, "We consider it meaningful to be partnering with SBS, a leading player in Korean TV content," and added, "When the powerful data transmission capabilities of ATSC 3.0 are combined with SBS's content, we expect this will present new viewing experiences and content distribution models."
