'So Far So Close', starring late Song Jae Rim, confirms premiere

So Far So Close, starring late actor Song Jae Rim, will be released on December 3.

So Far So Close follows Jun Ho (Park Ho San), who has been unable to overcome his past trauma for ten years. One day, he encounters a mysterious woman named Yeon Joo, who looks exactly like his deceased lover, only to lose her. Later, another woman named Eun Young, who also resembles his late lover, appears, causing Jun Ho to waver between the illusions of his past and a new possible connection.

The film received the Best Cinematography Award at the 2024 Chungmuro Short & Independent Film Festival, earning recognition for both its artistry and mise-en-scène. 

The film holds special significance as it marks Song Jae Rim's final performance before his passing last year. In the movie, he plays dual roles as Dong Seok and Dong Su, who search for their lovers.

In November of last year, Song Jae Rim was found dead at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It was reported that he had left a two-page handwritten note, and the sudden news of his passing prompted condolences from fellow actors and fans alike. 

So Far So Close will open in theaters nationwide on December 3.
