Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
The upcoming Netflix film Mantis announced its premiere date.
On August 27, Netflix released the first poster and trailer for the upcoming movie Mantis. Through the released promotions, it was officially confirmed that the upcoming action thriller movie Mantis will premiere on September 26.
Mantis will showcase the story of a killer, his rival, and a retired legendary killer in a thrilling face-off to determine who is the best. This film is the spin-off of the 2023 film Kill Bok Soon, led by Jeon Do Yeon, Sul Kyung Gu, Kim Shi Ah, Esom, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Lee Yeon.
ZE: A's Yim Si Wan, Park Gyu Young, and Jo Woo Jin will lead the upcoming film.
Yim Si Wan will portray Han Ui, an elite assassin who returns to the murder contract industry after a long vacation, only to find it in shambles. In the film, Park Gyu Young will play Jae I, Han Ui's trainee colleague and rival. Jo Woo Jin will bring to life the character of Dok Go, a retired legendary killer who takes over MK Enterprise upon learning of Cha Min Kyu's (character from Kill Bok Soon) death.
Director Lee Tae Sung, who was an assistant director for Kill Bok Soon, will make his official directorial debut with the upcoming film. He will be joined by director Byun Sung Hyun (Kill Bok Soon, Kingmaker, and The Merciless).
Mantis will premiere worldwide exclusively on Netflix on September 26.
In the teaser, MK Enterprise CEO Cha Min Kyu (played by Sul Kyung Gu) is heard in the background explaining the rules of the industry. The scene then introduces the assassins who will lead the story. Han Ui, an elite assassin, his rival Jae I, and the retired legendary killer Dok Go. These three will face off to claim the top position at MK Enterprise, which is now vacant following Cha Min Kyu's death.
The trailer subtly hints at the rivalry between Han Ui and Jae I, with Jae I asking Han Ui, "Now, am I not above you anymore?" Han Ui's mocking response, "So you wanted to kill me?" suggests a tense history between the two.
