Bae Suzy is in discussion to lead a new web novel based K-drama by 'Sweet Home' director
The hit TVING K-drama Study Group is having a season 2.
On May 12, the production company behind Study Group confirmed that the hit K-drama will have a second season and revealed that it is still in the early planning stages. The cast, OTT streaming platform, and other details are not yet confirmed.
Study Group is a high school-themed action comedy centered on Yoon Ga Min, who, despite lacking academic talent, excels in fighting. When he joins the worst school, he immerses himself in the intense world of competitive exams, forming a study group as he goes. The K-drama based its story from the popular webtoon of the same name, penned by Shin Hyung Wook and illustrated by Yoo Seung Yeon.
It was the joint work of director Lee Jang Hoon (Miracle: Letters to the President and Be with You) and writer Oh Bo Hyun (Behind Your Touch, Island, and Aftermath).
Study Group was a hit original K-drama on TVING, topping the platform's paid subscriber list for five straight weeks.
The K-drama was broadcast between January 23 and February 20, with a total of 10 episodes.
Study Group was led by NU'EST's Hwang Min Hyun, Han Ji Eun, Cha Woo Min, Lee Jong Hyun, Shin Su Hyun, and Yoon Sang Jung.
If Hwang Min Hyun returns to the new season of Study Group, this will be his comeback project after finishing his military service. The idol actor will be discharged from the military on December 20, 2025.
Before Han Ji Eun returns as teacher Lee Han Gyeong, she will first star in the upcoming K-drama The Boy in the Last Row. She will work alongside Choi Min Shik, Choi Hyun Wook, Jin Kyung, Huh Joon Ho, and Jo Han Chul.
