The upcoming TVING K-drama Becoming a Cooking Soldier Legend announces its official cast lineup.

On July 7, it was officially confirmed that Park Ji Hoon, Yoon Kyung Ho, Han Dong Hee, and Lee Hong Nae are working together to give life to the web novel-based K-drama Becoming a Cooking Soldier Legend.

Becoming a Cooking Soldier Legend is a comedy K-drama about a young man in his twenties whose military enlistment takes an unexpected turn as he rises to become a legendary cook. The story will be depicted from the web novel of the same name by Jay Robin, a former military cook.

The upcoming K-drama will be the next work of director Jo Nam Hyung, who is known for creating the K-dramas Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, A Superior Day, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, and more.

Becoming a Cooking Soldier Legend will premiere in 2026, and it will exclusively air on TVING.

Kang Sung Jae, the main character of the K-drama, will be played by Park Ji Hoon. He enlisted in the military and was assigned to be an army cook at Gangrim Outpost. When he was still doing basic training, he was the top trainee, but a strange voice told him to accept the offer of becoming an army cook. He then took on the challenge and aimed to be a legendary cook who would take charge of the meals of the Korean Armed Forces.

Yoon Kyung Ho plays Sergeant Park Jae Young, the "time bomb" boss of the Fourth Platoon, where Kang Sung Jae is assigned. He is infamous as a "time bomb" due to his consistent failures and inability to get promoted. Now, with Kang Sung Jae's arrival, his already difficult path to promotion just got even tougher.

Han Dong Hee will portray First Lieutenant Cho Ye Rin, the commanding officer of Gangrim Outpost in the series. She is known for being straightforward and has a strong sense of duty. She stood out among others at the Korea Military Academy, but for some unknown reason, she was assigned to Gangrim Outpost and has since had a quiet routine.

Lastly, Lee Hong Nae will portray the role of Sergeant Yoon Dong Hyun, the senior cook at Gangrim Outpost. His lack of taste has led to the dining hall's poor reputation. With his military service almost over, with just 100 days left, he intended to take it easy. However, his quiet final days are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of the new cook meant to replace him.
