For actress Park Eun Bin, 2026 is a special year. Not only is she marking the 30th anniversary of her debut, but two projects she devoted considerable time and effort to are also being released.

The actress said, "I've never really considered numbers to be important," but added, "I want to regard the almost 30 years I've walked as an actress as a monumental milestone." That is why even greater anticipation surrounds what lies ahead for the now-34-year-old actress.

"My fans seem to find the 30th anniversary especially meaningful. When I thought about it myself, I realized the feeling would probably be different compared to a 29th or 31st anniversary. I don't even know when all this time passed, but I think I've managed to come this far well for 30 years without giving up. For the rest of the year as well, I want to continue doing my best in a way that lives up to the title of my 30th anniversary."

Veteran actress Park Eun Bin successfully pulled off yet another acting transformation through The WONDERfools. Taking on the role of Eun Chae Ni, the troublemaker of Haeseong City, she boldly experimented not only with her voice and gaze but also with a strikingly unconventional style.

In particular, Eun Chae Ni's pigtails served as a device to express the character's free-spirited personality. Park Eun Bin jokingly said, "I'm not like that, but since Chae Ni is 27 years old, I hope people can understand her wearing pigtails." She added, "I think a lot of people found Chae Ni cute because of that look."

Park Eun Bin said, "Personally, I like tying my hair symmetrically, but I don't think Chae Ni would necessarily be like that. Chae Ni is the kind of person who does things her own way, like she has no brakes. If it were Chae Ni, she'd probably start tying one side of her hair, then while doing the other side go, 'Ah, my arm hurts,' and just tie it lower."

Park Eun Bin also put a great deal of thought into expressing the character's presence and energy. She said, "I wanted to leave a strong impression with Eun Chae Ni's distinctive way of speaking."

She explained, "The series doesn't only have lighthearted storylines, so the tone could easily have become dark. I wanted to break through that aspect through the character, so I amped up the energy."

Speaking about the action scenes, Park Eun Bin admitted, “It was fun, but there were also aspects that were difficult and [physically] demanding." She even joked that on set, she playfully complained to director Yoo In Sik, saying, "You never said we'd be going this far with it."

Park Eun Bin said, "Since I was acting out superpowers, there were moments when I had to imagine I was seeing things that weren't actually there. It was a time when I really had to use my imagination as an actress. Looking at the final result, I feel proud and deeply rewarded. I think the difficult memories have been romanticized a bit now. Haha."

Set in 1999, an era gripped by fears of apocalypse, The WONDERfools tells the story of a group of goofy townies who, after an unexpected incident, acquire superpowers and take on villains threatening the peace of Haeseong City.

Starring alongside Park Eun Bin are Cha Eun Woo, Kim Hae Sook, Choi Dae Hoon, and Im Sung Jae, among others.

The WONDERfools is streaming on Netflix.
