Kim Sae Ron's posthumous film 'Everyday, We' confirmed to premiere in 2026
Even though Good Boy has just wrapped up and S Line will conclude this week, you'll still have plenty of K-dramas to add to your watchlist! Three new K-dramas, each from a different genre, are set to premiere this week.
Here's a look at the K-dramas airing this week:
The Defects
First up tonight is The Defects, an action thriller K-drama perfect for those who love suspense and excitement. If you enjoyed the chemistry between Yeom Jung Ah and DEX in Fresh off the Sea, you won't want to miss this! The Defects premieres tonight at 8 PM KST on ENA, with the second episode airing tomorrow at the same time.
The Defects will tell the story of revenge and survival, focusing on children who are returned by their foster parents. This upcoming series is based on the webtoon of the same name by Ryu Ga Myeong and Eom Se Yoon. The K-drama stars Yeom Jung Ah, Won Jin A, Choi Young Joon, DEX, and Ahn Ji Ho.
Another webtoon-based K-drama will premiere this week, this time a fantasy romantic comedy featuring K-pop stars. If you've been missing the classic gender-swapping K-dramas, you'll definitely want to check out My Girlfriend is the Man!
The K-drama will tell the story of Park Yun Jae and his girlfriend, Kim Ji Eun, who mysteriously transforms into a man. Despite this drastic change, they decide to stay together, hoping she will return to her original form, and actively search for a solution. This K-drama is based on Matstar's webtoon of the same name.
ASTRO's Yoon San Ha will portray Park Yun Jae, while Oh My Girl's A Rin will portray Kim Ji Eun, and Yoo Jung Hoo will take on the role of her male counterpart, Kim Ji Hun.
The K-drama will air exclusively on KBS starting July 23 at 9:50 PM KST. International fans can stream it on Viki.
Rounding out the new releases, Netflix is set to premiere Trigger, another original K-drama featuring Kim Nam Gil.
If you're into thriller mysteries or curious about the strict firearm laws in South Korea, where the purchase, sale, and ownership of guns are banned for citizens, this K-drama is definitely for you.
Trigger will showcase the stories of two men who resort to using guns for different reasons with the surge of illegal firearm incidents in Korea. The series stars Kim Nam Gil, Kim Young Kwang, Woo Ji Hyun, Park Hoon, Kim Won Hae, and Kil Hae Yeon.
Viewers can stream Trigger globally on Netflix starting July 25.
