'Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo' actress Lee Sung Kyung: 'My mindset is the same now as it was then

Lee Sung Kyung commented on the scheduling of In Your Radiant Season following The Judge Returns.

On the afternoon of February 19, a press conference for MBC's new Friday–Saturday drama In Your Radiant Season was held at the MBC building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Director Jung Sang Hee and actors Lee Sung Kyung, Chae Jong Hyeop, Lee Mi Sook, Kang Suk Woo, Han Ji Hyeon, and Oh Ye Ju attended the event to mark the drama's launch.

In Your Radiant Season tells the story of Chan (Chae Jong Hyeop), a man who lives each day as if it were an exciting summer vacation, and Ran (Lee Sung Kyung), a woman who has locked herself away in a wintry life. 

Director Jung said, "I'm happy the drama that aired previous to ours [The Judge Returns] did well, and I want to continue that momentum," adding, "The tone is different, but I believe it's more than competitive in terms of mass appeal and overall quality."

Lee Sung Kyung also said she would focus on the work's quality rather than feeling pressured. "Even 10 years ago, when I did Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, the competition was tough, but my mindset remains the same now as it was then," she said. "The results are up to the viewers, and I want to make a drama I won't be embarrassed about."

Lee added, "What I'm certain of is that it will be a drama that'll 'have you in deep,'" asking for anticipation.

Chae Jong Hyeop added, "There's a delicate sensibility that only our drama can show. We want our color, scent, and sensibility to seep in," piquing curiosity.

In Your Radiant Season is set to premiere on February 20. The K-drama will be streaming on Disney+.
