Lee Bong Ryun, Lee Chang Hoon, Son Ji Yoon, and Lee Hyun Kyun come as wise professors at Yulje Hospital in Resident Playbook.
Hospital Playlist spinoff, Resident Playbook, is a drama about doctors working at Yulje Hospital, depicting the growth of residents who dream of becoming wise doctors as they navigate their struggles.
Including Go Youn Jung, Shin Shi Ah, Kang Yoo Seok, and Han Ye Ji as first-year OB/GYN residents, the K-drama also features Lee Bong Ryun as Seo Jung Min, Lee Chang Hoon as Ryu Jae Hwi), Son Ji Yoon as Gong Gi Seon, and Lee Hyun Kyun as Jo Jun Mo — professors in the obstetrics and gynecology department at Yulje Hospital.
Veteran actress Lee Bong Ryeon plays Seo Jung Min, the most notable professor in the obstetrics department at Yulje Hospital. Emerging as the star professor in the obstetrics department, she is both the role model that residents most want to emulate and the terrifying figure, a granny witch, they least want to encounter.
Lee Chang Hoon plays Ryu Jae Hwi, Seo Jung Min's peer and husband, who is also a professor. Ryu Jae Hwi is a calm and quiet type of person, who always offers positive advice and encouragement to his students. However, due to his inability to recognize faces, he fails to recognize the residents he sees every day.
Son Ji Yoon plays another professor in the obstetrics department, Gong Gi Seon. Known as the Deus of the department, Gong Gi Seon is an extremely temperamental character who sends chills down the residents' spines with her unpredictable demeanour every day. She will showcase a mix of camaraderie and rivalry toward her peer, Seo Jung Min, a rising star in the department.
Lee Hyun Kyun plays Jo Jun Mo, the Jekyll and Hyde of the obstetrics department. Jo Jun Mo, with his signature grumpy face and rough speech, is the number one target of residents' avoidance, as he makes the usually calm obstetrics ward noisy with his relentless shouting. Though a gentleman to patients, he is an angry bird to the residents.
Thus, the professors of the OB/GYN department at Yulje Hospital's Jongno branch are coming to serve as either kind mentors or intimidating teachers to the rookie first-year residents, helping them in their journey to becoming wise doctors.
Resident Playbook is set to premiere on April 12. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix.
