Yang Se Jong has shared his thoughts on Spooky in Love.

Spooky in Love is an occult rom-com that follows hotel heiress Cheon Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin), who can see ghosts, and passionate prosecutor Ma Kang Wook (Yang Se Jong) as they team up to solve cases.

The following is the full Q&A with Yang Se Jong:

Q. Spooky in Love ended amid much love from viewers, after setting a new personal best in viewership ratings and ranking No. 1 in TV drama buzz. How do you feel about the drama coming to an end?

I sincerely thank everyone who watched and enjoyed our drama. I was grateful that I was able to film while laughing with so many people on set, and it was truly a happy time. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who was with us.

Q. The story began with a hostile relationship between Yeo Ri (Park Eun Bin) and Kang Wook, then progressed into a cooperative partnership in which they needed each other, ultimately reaching a tightly wrapped happy ending. How was your chemistry with Park Eun Bin, with whom you portrayed the changing relationship over the course of the drama?

Perhaps because we are the same age, we communicated very well. I think those aspects naturally carried over into our acting, which allowed us to portray their relationship in an enjoyable way. Also, since Kang Wook and Yeo Ri have many contrasting qualities, I found a lot of enjoyment in the differences that came through while acting together.

Q. Not only in the drama itself, but also in the behind-the-scenes videos, you could feel the cheerful atmosphere on set, with the actors naturally exchanging ad-libs. How was your chemistry with Lee Chang Hoon and Kim Min Ho, who played members of the prosecution office team, as well as Cha Mi Kyung, who played Paeng Myo Soon, Kang Wook's only family member, his grandmother? If there are any memorable episodes from the set, please tell us about them as well.

I think a lot of really good ideas came out while rehearsing on set with Chang Hoon hyung and Min Ho hyung. As we continued filming, our chemistry became so good that at some point, I felt we could tell what the other person was going to do just by looking at each other.

We could also comfortably exchange ad-libs with each other. I felt that the drama needed moments that could "refresh" the atmosphere, and I think Chang Hoon hyung and Min Ho hyung brought those moments to life well, making the drama richer.

When acting with senior actress Cha Mi Kyung, I think I also tried to carry over the emotions and chemistry that naturally emerged during rehearsals. I was able to act comfortably every time we worked together, and we had a lot of laughs and enjoyed filming.

Q. I heard that there were many scenes that were completed by adding ideas on set, such as Kang Wook making a fuss after seeing ghosts. Was the idea of saving Yeo Ri's name as "102??" in Kang Wook's phone also your own idea? If there are any other details that were born from your ideas, please tell us about them.

I think I had a lot of conversations with the director on set about how Kang Wook would have saved Yeo Ri's number. I think I came up with those kinds of ideas thanks to the director.

During rehearsals and while exchanging ideas with the director, instead of restricting my acting, the director gave me the freedom to try things out.

Thanks to that, I was able to comfortably try out various ideas, and I also had really great chemistry with the director. I'd like to sincerely thank the director. Thank you, director-nim! (laughs).

Q. Since the drama showcased various elements, from romance and comedy to the occult, it must have been a new challenge for you as well. How do you think [you] will remember Spooky in Love and the character Ma Kang Wook?

I would describe Spooky in Love as "a drama that made me happy because I was able to work with good people." I was able to laugh a lot with wonderful people while filming, so I think it will remain as a happy memory for a long time.

Ma Kang Wook is a character who gave me a lot of laughter. I also laughed a lot and had a great time while playing Kang Wook. Thank you Kang Wook! Goodbye.

Q. Please give a final message to the viewers who spent the particularly hot summer weekend nights with Spooky in Love, a drama that was both chilling and sweet.

Yes, I think this summer was especially hot. Once again, I would like to thank all the viewers who liked and loved our drama throughout that hot summer. Above all, I hope you stay healthy, both in body and mind.
