SBS's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace gives a glimpse of Yook Sung Jae possessed by an imugi.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri (Bona), the only granddaughter of a famous shaman who refuses to accept her destiny as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri, as they confront a vengeful spirit harboring a deep grudge against the royal family.
Yook Sung Jae takes on a dual role as Yoon Gap, a royal archivist who becomes possessed by the evil imugi, Kang Cheol, and also as Yeo Ri's childhood friend.
Transforming from a kind-hearted and intelligent nobleman into a charismatic yet fearsome evil imugi, he is set to sweep through the palace and capital with his unrivaled presence.
In the stills, Yook Sung Jae sheds his persona of a gentle nobleman Yoon Gap, and instead exudes a commanding charisma. What stands out the most are the scales emerging along his neck. Furthermore, his piercingly sharp and chilling gaze radiates a distinct aura that tells he is not his usual self as a nobleman.
In the following stills, Yoon Gap is seen behaving like a madman while maintaining the elegance expected of a nobleman. Dressed in a formal court robe, he is seen lounging carelessly on a wooden bench, exuding an air of nonchalance. His mischievous expressions and playful gestures create an amusing contrast, sparking curiosity about his character.
Yoon Gap is also seen perched atop the palace roof in broad daylight, still dressed in his formal court attire, gazing down upon the human world beneath him. He radiates eccentricity, while his unapologetic arrogance bursts forth.
The Haunted Palace premieres this April. News about the K-drama's global OTT service is yet to come. Stay tuned!
