Season 2 for gao tu maybe?

With the current pacing of the series, it looks impossible that they will cover gao&shen's storyline fully in 6 episodes. In the concept trailer(10 minutes long) we see gao leaving with boxes yet there is no mention of any reunion happening. Im guessing that they will cover hua&sheng's storyline fully and end the secondary couple on a bittersweet tone. Depending on the production team and the requests of the fans, they can produce a second season but I am not so sure. What do you think?

I don't think they will leave their story in a bittersweet tone. The reason why there is no mention of a reunion is because they don't to spoil anything like how would the reunion would look like. They might do it differently than in the book. So far, they have given the second couple more scenes in the show compared to the book. They might rewrite some scenes like the one with Gao Tu's father and Shen Wen Lang's fathers a bit.

I think it is possible to do their storyline in 6 episodes. This is based on my guess.
Episode 11: Gao Tu found out that he is pregnant
Episode 12: Gao Tu files for resignation
Episode 13: Gao Tu leaves
Episode 14: Wen Lang find out the truth (they might give him a lot of scenes for that episode)
Episodes 15 & 16 would be the rest of their story, but it is possible that they might rewrite the ending a lot since book fans weren't happy with that.

I heard that if the series gets successful, they will do a second season on Wen Lang's fathers, so if that happens, we will see Gao Tu & Wen Lang, but not that much compared to this season.

I really hope they just cover it in this one because getting a season 2 can be impossible. I read a comment on the page saying that the show wasn't doing as well as the people behind it thought it would.

At this point, it seems almost impossible that we’ll get a proper telling of Gao Tu and Shen Wen Lang's story. With only six episodes left, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll introduce SWL’s father or Ma Heng, who is in love with Gao Tu. I think the focus will remain on the main couple, and somewhere in the upcoming episodes, we might get glimpses of GT’s pregnancy, his resignation, and perhaps a brief reunion—most likely just SWL hugging GT. Honestly, I’ve lost hope and feel quite disappointed. I just hope my prayers are heard, and we are given a proper, complete story for SWL and GT.

This tells us nothing. 🤧 Seems Gao Tu is made to suffer the entire damn show.
