Hello there!

I hope you're doing well. I've encountered worse CGI in the past.

Overall, I find the drama to be decent—not exceptional—but still enjoyable to watch.

Yes, I am fine thank you :), I will give it a try. Thanks for the rec.

Hi Ree, PC for me.

where do yall use the site ?

Hi there!

I access it through my phone app and via the browser on my laptop or tablet.

Why do you ask?

Browser in both. Mostly on laptop but sometimes on phone as well

So, I started watching "Genie, Make a Wish"

Enjoy! Seems like a fun watch

"Take my wife away" with assertive FL vs Childish ML

Thanks for the recc ^^ Love that she's carrying him on the poster, haha

The series began slowly, and the writing was a bit messy. However, the last three episodes helped to make up for some of its shortcomings. I found the love story between a genie and a psychopath to be enjoyable primarily due to its original concept. Therefore, I rated the series a respectable 7 out of 10. Anything involving celestial beings is my Achilles' heel.

I should mention this series had a lot more blood than I was expecting. It's categorized as a fantasy romance comedy,  however it  leans more into the realm of fantasy mystery thriller with  romance mixed in.

That definitely does sound better than I was expecting. Glad you enjoyed it ^^

I'm  dropping "An Ancient Love Song". Since I took a break from it for a couple of months and returned, I've noticed that my enthusiasm has faded. I'm also finding it challenging to stay on top of the timelines, lol. I'm really behind on the RR titles released this year, and I would like to check a few off my list before the year ends.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up rewatching it start to finish, and I absolutely loved it. Hopefully, you'll revisit it eventually

Arclei Dear, Simi Dear, Dear all

I remember I was stuck on episode 7 for a while. I am not dropping it but I think I will restart it and binge it in one go. I barely drop any drama (I have less than dramas on my drop list). I aways hope I can finish it. But that's just me.  Dropping is also OK : after a while it's hard to remember all the character's names and situations.

Sounds like a plan. This worked wonderfully for me. Hoping to see what you think when you're done ^^

I was also completely lost by the time I resumed, but I did really want to watch it, so I rewatched it start to finish, and not only did it make a lot more sense since I could consistently follow the story and notice details, but I also felt more connected to the story.

As the end of the year draws closer, I'm starting to doubt my ability to finish the Role Reversal Watch Challenge this year and start a new one the next xD

I'm still 14 dramas short of meeting my goal, and although I have a lot of them halfway through and some movies selected, I seriously don't know if I'll make it in just over two months, especially with how chaotic the end of the year is.
I finished watching A Talented Girl Grows Up today, and I may or may not have a crush on the ML. Talk about a drama that commits to the role reversal. Seriously, if y'all can handle historical cdrama romcom, you need to watch it!

I spent the past couple of weeks GIFing so many of the scenes of this drama because it's peak RR goodness.
I am obsessed.
There's FL, who's a rowdy 'illiterate' martial artist (she transmigrates so kinda), and she's married to ML, the top scholar who's gentle, elegant, and kind. She is soooo smitten, it's adorable, and like girl, I get it. ML seems like the aloof kind, but he's just a darling mother at heart, the greenest feminist flag ever.

If you're craving a mommy boyfriend that's being swept off his feet by his rowdy wife, then this drama is it. Because BOY does she try and woo him. Basically, all the typical scenes in romance and reversed but with ✨ layers ✨ FL literally carries ML more than once and is the one to make the grand displays of affection, public displays of affection, etc, etc. Meanwhile, ML supports her more quietly, letting her woo him and standing by her side so she can be strong on her own.
Naturally, as all cdramas, it does have some more traditional moments, but I can excuse those as being just the occasional hiccups that can occur. Those happen in traditional relationships too, so it be like that. In the last couple of episodes, there's also less RR due to plot reasons, which is a shame, but until ep 15 it was peak.
So for the majority of the drama, it was role reversal goodness, topped with an extremely physically weak but super pretty ML and a strong and bold FL.
And can I just say that ML is the dream boyfriend/husband? Because... elegant, gentle, kind, feminist, supportive, nurturing, caring, loving, softspoken, eloquent, understanding, non-judgmental, knows poetry, knows music, has a constant pretty-boy filter on- I AM WELL
He literally walks down the aisle, liiike???
What makes this drama stand out from other similar dramas to me is its approach to the role reversal. Though it's a comedy, it doesn't feel like the role reversal is only played for laughs. Like, haha, isn't it hilarious that the man is like the woman, haha (which even dramas like Romance of Tiger and Rose fall victim to), but rather, it's funny because it's a comedy. With the exception of ML being physically weak, the role reversal isn't really a point of ridicule.

Another thing is that both leads are actually so content and thriving in their reversed roles. There isn't really a moment where one of them expresses humiliation or dissatisfaction with having to be in the role traditionally reserved for the opposite gender. So they're kinda living their best lives in their little RR world. She pursues him and tries to woo him, and he stares at her with wind in his hair and enamored eyes as she stumbles and falls flat on her face every time.
I only added a few of the GIFs because a lot might be spoilers, and it's best to go in blind, but I'll be posting them on my blog sometime soon ^-^

Yo, srry I've been MIA from club activities, it's a busy time of year for me (ˉ▽ˉ;)...

But on any note, I've been thinking about it and one of my fav (non-rr) dramas is Chicago Typewriter, but as I was thinking back on it (its been a long while since I watched it) I couldn't help but think it might've had microscopically subtle-subgenre rr as the ml at one point has the fl act as his bodyguard. Thoughts?
