The Glory of Queen looks really good 🥰

 potatocouch:
Oh no, are you sick? D:

Thankfully not, just having a downer couple of weeks, haha. Hence why I've been less active socially

 potatocouch:
The FL never becomes demure, and still calls the shots when it comes to the actual relationship.

That's good then 😌

 potatocouch:
Will people be able to handle her?

Let's just hope this doesn't find the normie squad, haha xD She's giving SFL from A Dream Like the True Love, but as the FL and like, that's the good shit I've been craving

 potatocouch:
OMG....it's giving Tale of Nokdu! Sign me up!

Thanks for all the recs, girlie. I'm adding ALL of them to my list.

Glad you liked them! <3

 potatocouch:
Okay, I watched the trailer and got CHILLS!!!!

RIGHT?! I went ahead and kinda scrolled a bit through Tumblr and holyyyyyy, seems like it's as scrumptious as the trailer makes it out to be O-O Role reversal and whump is like my fav combo!

I know right? It seems really cute!

How many episodes and  duration per episode does a typical short-length series

have? I'm a bit confused about the difference between micro series, short-le

ngth series, and regular series. Google is not being clear with it's explanation.

 Simi_Tutu:

This is confusing because it changed a lot recently. Until last year, short-length series were 5-10 minutes per ep (with some exceptions being 15 min) and mostly 24 eps total. Since then, it's becoming 15-35 min (I've seen a lot on the 18 min) with ep counts ranging from 18 to 28. Only a couple still keep the 10 min & 24 ep format (I was actually surprised that The Princess Decree had this despite being from last year, for instance).

Basically, short-length series were supposed to be slightly longer than movies. 3ish hours.

Now with the rise of vertical microdramas, this changed, and now the place previously occupied by SLS is now occupied VSD. So VSDs range from 2-3 hours, forcing SLS to be longer.

Generally, from what I've observed, it's like this:
- Short-length series = Eps of 15 minutes or less. 18-28 eps. Usually 3-5 hrs total runtime.
- Microdramas = Eps of 2-5 minutes. 30-100 eps. Usually 30min-2hrs total runtime (but a lot are pushing for 3 hours now).
- Regular series = Eps of 30 min and up. The amount of eps vary (ones with fewer than 10 episodes tend to be called miniseries, ones with more are regular series).

As for what MDL considers a short length series? Anything 20 minutes and under.

VSD = Vertical Short Dramas
SLS = Short Length Series

 Arclei:

See this is where I get confused because to me a series like Marry Him in Her Place that has an episode duration of 17 minutes and the total watch time being  6 hours and 48 minutes is listed as a short length drama

 Arclei:
Microdramas = Eps of 2-5 minutes. 30-100 eps

So a series like Zhang Gong Zhu Zai Shang  that has an episode duration of 2 minutes and the total watch time being  54  minutes .

Um, just to clarify, Vertical Shorts are Microdramas? I'm really sorry, but I want to make sure I get this right because it can get pretty confusing when they mix in web series. I'm asking this because I'm taking part in the connection board challenge, and I was trying to determine a difficulty level. But honestly, I got a bit lost between vertical, short, micro, and mini dramas.

I was thinking of setting the difficulty to just short/vertical dramas, but then I started to wonder if the weight of micro series is the same as that of vertical series, and then my mind just started to spiral. So, please bear with me. I tend to get confused with these titles sometimes.

 Simi_Tutu:

Yeah, this is a good example of the 2025-onwards shift on SLS, where the ep lengths average more in the later teens. I really got into SLS in 2023-2024, so I'm used to the 10 min format xD

Bear in mind that MDL does have its own definitions for SLS, and that is any drama with eps under 20 minutes.

 Simi_Tutu:

Yes, ZGZZS counts, but it was a rare drama at the time. Back then, SLS weren't as popular, and verticals didn't exist, so the content type shifted now, and dramas with ep durations of 2-5 minutes are pretty much exclusively VSD that really only have 2 min eps.

 Simi_Tutu:
Vertical Shorts are Microdramas

Yes. Most range from 1 1/2 hrs to 3, which I would classify as a microdrama.

No worries. It is pretty confusing, and there isn't really a standard way to categorize them. MDL tried with the SLS tag, but it's messy. They're now trying to organize it better with the new content type update, which gives vertical dramas a place of their own, but it's a slow process.

 Simi_Tutu:
But honestly, I got a bit lost between vertical, short, micro, and mini dramas.

Basically...

Minidramas - Full length eps of 20+ min (usually 45-70 min). Ep count 10 or under. (MDL definition: "Miniseries is a title that tells a story in a predetermined, limited number of episodes, of usually 10 or less episodes.")

Short Length Series - Ep lengths under 20 min. Ep count varies (typically under 30 eps). (MDL definition: "Short-length series are titles that have an average runtime of less than 20 minutes per episode.")

Microdramas - Ep lengths usually 2-5 min. Ep count varies. Total runtime is usually movie-length (1-2 hrs)

Vertical Dramas - Ep lengths are always 2 min. Ep count ranges from 60 to 110 episodes. Total runtime is usually 2-3 hours.

Does that help?

 Simi_Tutu:
if the weight of micro series is the same as that of vertical series,

Not sure what you mean by this?

 Arclei:

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! Would you mind if I copied and pasted it into one of my custom lists that I created for my mini/short link series?

That's a total mistake. I have no clue what I meant to express there, just disregard it. lmao

Absolutely, feel free to use the explanation for your list! Glad I could be of help 😄

 Arclei:
😄

Oh, I almost forgot to ask if you could create a few badges for some of your challenges in pastel pink and  pastel green? I need one for the Connection Board Challenge 2026 and another for the Role Reversal Watch Challenge. I attempted to make some on my own, but I encountered difficulties with Canvas.

Yes, absolutely! You got any specific images you'd like me to use? (for the connection board challenge I typically use two images to like 'connect' but up to you) And if you have a specific hex code, let me know too

Should I make them pink to green gradient or solid color?

 Arclei:

Thank you

For the Challenge Connection Board Challenge 2026  can you do a pink to yellow gradient

Photo: Link ( I wasn't able to locate a high-quality photo for Zhang Gong Zhu Zai Shang. However, if you can make the MDL cover work, that's fine too. Personally, I believe it would look better, but either option would be suitable.)

And for the Role Reversal Watch  can you do a pink to green  gradient

.

Here they are!

Hope you like them!

Couldn't find the ZGZZS cover without the text so I went with your initial option (I also think it works really nicely with the yellow and pink).  ZGZZS has such beautifully RR pics, tbh...

To think I looked at the Sweetest Rebellion page multiple times and only NOW realized that Xu Hai Qiao is the SML. Cheers mate, you're collecting RR dramas like pokemon xD

 Arclei:
Hope you like them!

Holy moly, they look absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much, they fit my profile like a glove! Look, look at them! I'm beyond thrilled that I get to click on these beauties all year long. If you don't mind, later this year when I've collected a few more Pokémon, LMAO, I'll have a stunning new photo for a shiny new RR badge. For now, I'm rocking my girl from Moonlight Mystique!

Awwww, I'm so glad you like them! They really do fit super nicely on your profile! I really admire your dedication to the pretty themes. All your challenges are so pretty <3

Absolutely! Always eager to make more badges!
