Mayama's such a teenager, full of complexes and low self esteem. Always compared with his perfect brother, bullied by his middle school classmates, he learnt to see only his flaws. That's why he thinks Asamiya deserves better. He can't comprehend that what he thinks of as flaws, Asamiya finds endearing. How I wish he could see himself through Asamiya's eyes.
I love Asamiya and his boldness. He knows what he wants. It'll take time to get through to Mayama. It's very hard to love a person who doesn't love themselves.

Side note: Watched both episodes of Kiss or Kill and they were exactly what I was hoping for. It was better then I was hoping for tbh. The tension, the flashback, the plot! I might be overflating it, but I needed that palate cleanse. Like when you spend the whole day with children but now it's girls night and you can cut loose. 😆

No no, def. a happy ending. As I said we even get a proper NC scene which BL final episodes don't always have. But not only that, they are able to get a fresh starts to their lives as a couple.

@Art Girl, I have heard good things about Life in Smokey Blue. I like that it’s about older people than we usually see, but if you only gave it a 7, I won’t make it my top priority.
Likewise, but on the downside, there's supposedly a lot of smoking. (Blech.)
My 7 rating might be very biased. Yep, partly cuz of LOTS of smoking, but also I'm not as much of a fan of second chance love. Then take into account it's Japanese, also not generally my fav, so my opinion could be influenced either way. And lastly the story itself was just so-so. Both MLs are cute and seem good as a couple, but that doesn't always translate into a higher rating for me.
I know u are more accepting of a lot, as is Mr. P, so maybe my ratings aren't the best to go by, lol!

I loved the music sm, and I also stopped watching around EP 3. Can't remember why exactly. Maybe I just wasn't feeling it. Sometimes I just go with my gut knowing I can always pick a drama back up if I change my mind or there's enough positive comments to rethink my choice.

if you go to rewatch it you will remember why and I don't blame you. Around episodes 3-5 (don't remember exactly) it seems the script didn't know how to get the characters from this plot to the next and had a really convoluted scenario that didn't make sense and looked horrible. It really brought the overall drama down a few points.
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now with the JBL's. There are 10 currently airing and if I take them individually, all of them are decent to great for me. At least none of them have any hard or soft NO's for me.
It's just... has anyone noticed that half of them are based on the same foundation? Obsessed simp 'top' in love with troubled 'bottom' in which they help them overcome in various ways.
I'm not saying I don't love this foundation, but why drop all of these at the same time I wonder. At least now I can add another category to my JBL sorter. 1. Soft and Sweet 2. Horny and 3. Obsessed simp

Life in Smokey Blue
This was my top rated JBL so far that I have ever watched. If you are in your 30-40s it is very relatable in so many different ways, however this is also the shows weakness. From me though this gets a very high recommendation. I have a review of this one on my page if you want to check out some more info.
I will check out your review. I definitely plan to watch this at some point. I occasionally want to watch real adult stories. 😉😊
