I agree with all previous comments. I really hate the mother. So controlling. So unreasonable. Definitely a narcissist. But Jin-a is 40 years old and should have moved out long ago, and should have at least moved out when the mother was initially so horrible about Jin-a and Jun-hui being together, and at least when she was so insensitive, heartless, and cruel towards Gyeon-seon and Jun-hui. Why does Jin-a let her mother push her around? Why doesn't she stick up for her best friend and the man she loves? I guess this is not normal Korean mother behavior, or? (but I have seen other shows where K mothers and grandmothers are depicted as controlling and overly dramatic to the point of hysteria.) And hitting a 40-year-old daughter, hitting her boyfriend? Is parental violence acceptable in Korean culture? Horrible! I cheered when Jin-a's father talked back to her and told her to stop disrespecting him. I hope he keeps doing that. I'm just starting Episode 14, so hopefully things will improve by the end, but Episode 13 was particularly painful to watch and I just had to vent. Horrible mother! Horrible, horrible, horrible!
