Anonymity of MDL

I'd spent a lot of time here until about a year ago when I got fed up with Asian dramas in général and MDL in particular and I deleted my account. I looked the site up a couple of days ago, out of nostalgia and, truth be told, was saddened by the sight of It. It has completely lost its soul: the users have no sense of humour, interesting people stay in their own bubbles in the Friends Feeds, there are no editorials any more... Just so sad!

What bothered me the most with this site is a total lack of transparency! All we know about the site is that it originated in the USA (Denver, Colorado apparently?). But who the owners are and what is their editorial line are completely shrouded in mystery. 

Doesn't that bother anyone? The owners and the paid staff are all anonymous ! Who they are and how they work is a bigger secret than the list of CIA spies!

We see the changes brought upon the site, mostly useless but which are driving longtime users away. Multiple feeds, insipid news "articles" Google translated and copy/pasted by "staff writers", games, flowers for actors....etc.etc. 

They are a business now not a community and their goal these days is making money not strengthening the fan base. They have become too big to remain people friendly.

And that's a shame!😭😭😭😭

There hasn't been a single editorial since April 2025.

About the staff writers:

MDL forgot to update this side as it stopped writing articles about Kim Soo hyun after defaming him for months.

There have been zero reader contributed articles published in MDL since April.

I want to read reader contributed articles discussing DRAMAS. I wonder how many are waiting for publication. Must be in the hundreds if not thousands by now. The contributors have every right to be angry at the situation. 

The sections "Featured" and "Recent" are almost identical. Please consider changing "Featured" section into "Reader contributed" and running a separate section for the reader contributed articles.

Currently the staff writers publish a lot of unverified gossip articles which are identical to those published in Koreaboo, Dispatch and AllKpop. These articles are bringing down the quality of the site and making people aggressively attack both the actors and each other. Posting rumours and gossip is an actual invitation to every troll and dumbtard to start s****ing on the victims and writing hate comments. It is unfortunate that we have to keep reminding the staff writers that we object to publishing these articles.
